A Ginger Snap! Playful Pals Treat Boxes!

I am just plain excited today!  I spent yesterday creating and it felt soooo good.  It has been awhile since I have been able to just enjoy my crafting space.  The source of my joy yesterday is the Playful Pals stamp set & the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies.  Somehow in my head, I had created these to be time consuming and oh my gosh was I ever mistaken!!!  These go together so easily and they are absolutely adorable.

Frog

Of course, a pair of googlie eyes would make this guy even cuter!  I chose to leave the backs of my boxes unsecured so they open easily without ruining the box.  Here's another a character.

Elephant

This guy just might be my favorite.  Maybe next time I will give the trunk a bit of a curl at the end.  What do you think – curl or no curl?  And, with Easter fast approaching, I had to try a bunny.

Bunny

Because the pig looked so easy, it was the first charter box that I made.

Pig

Every pig looks better with a bit of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.  Ok, so now an important question for you – which is your favorite Pal?  Here they are all together so you can compare them.

I am anxious to hear your opinions.  Please share your thoughts by leaving a comment.  Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

A Ginger Snap! Pals PaperArts Sketch Challenge 286!

Because I have not had a chance to play with the bright & cheerful It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack, I decided that this sketch would be the perfect chance to break open my paper stack.  The vivid colors just shout party.  Using some of the the colors found in the dsp - Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry & Mint Macron, I inked up the balloons from the stamp set Balloon Celebration.  Although these balloons are perfect for soft subtle images, I think they work as well for bold & bright balloons.

The sketch this week is from the super talented Pal Linda Callahan.

It's all in the details ….

  • If you look closely, you will notice that the card base is embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  It adds some texture to the middle of the card.
  • A small Crushed Curry Baker's Twine bow adds a bit of spunk to the Crushed Curry balloon.
  • Check out the trio of It's My Party Enamel Dots that help to pull the eye to the bottom of my card.
  • I just love the sentiment on the balloon string found in the Balloon Celebration stamp set.
  • Although it is difficult to see, the balloons are highlighted with the Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush.  It adds a nice touch of sparkle suitable for any celebration!

  •  The balloon art piece is matted on a piece on Crushed Curry Card Stock.

  •  Of course, the inside of my card is spruced up with a Mint Macron DSP Mat that is also found in the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.
  •  Another trio of balloons are stamped with the same ink colors as I used on the front of my card.
  • The birthday sentiment is also from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set.

A Ginger Snap! Thank You!

Grapefruit rt

This is the  last of the trio of cards made with the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set.  Here's the details.

  • Score & fold the card base.
  • Use the Watermelon Inkto stamp the "grapefruit" once in the bottom right corner of the card front.
  • Use the Cucumber Crush Ink and the "stamping off" technique to stamp a row of leaves along the bottom of the card front, and a couple above the "grapefruit". Tip – Stamping Off Technique – Ink the stamp, and stamp it two/three times before reining, for a lighter image.
  • Use the Memento Black Ink to stamp the sentiment off to the left a little of the "grapefruit"'
  • Use Snail Adhesive or Fast Fuse to attach the card front to the mat.
  • Wrap about 36" of the Linen Thread around this piece three times before tying off in a bow in the top right corner.
  • Use Snail Adhesive or Fast Fuse to attach this piece to the card base.
  • Use Glue Dots to attach 3 Gold Sequins randomly to the card front.
