Mar 17, 2016 | Birthday, Pals Paper Arts, PPA card |
Welcome to the latest PPA Sketch Challenge! My stamp set of choice today is the lovely Birthday Blooms from Stampin' Up!

The sketch for today is courtesy of the very talented Beth Beard. Check it out below.

The Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper Pack is one of my favorites from the Occasions Catalog. I am partial to soft spring type colors so this pack is perfect for my tastes. Paired with the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set and I had what I needed to create a feminine birthday card.

Did you notice the little extras – the Pool Party 3/8" Glitter Ribbon, theTea Lace Paper Doily? The special Blushing Bride Sequins are leftovers from my Paper Pumpkin Kit for February. My card base is embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I thought a matching envelope would suit this card nicely. If you would like to see the cards created by the other Design Team members just click here

Mar 3, 2016 | Friend, Hello, Kids, Pals Paper Arts, PPA card |
It's time for another sketch challenge from the Pals Paper Arts (PPA).

This delightful sketch is courtesy of a very talented fellow Pal Patti MacLeith. Although I took some liberties with the sketch, I feel like it still fits the challenge. First, I rotated the sketch 180 degrees.. Second my shape is more of a semicircle than a full circle. Of course, there is a story behind my card.
This card reminds me of a game that we played as children. Everyone would look intensely for a Volkswagen Beetle (Bug) and the minute that you spotted one, you would yell out and I do mean yell, "SLUG BUG NO SLUGS BACK"! My mother often reminded us that a light touch would work just as well as a slug! You can imagine my surprise when I was visiting family and my 2 grandchildren (ages 6 & 8) started playing this very same game. And of course the object of the slugs were Papa & Grandma! I'll tell you that those kids can find those Bugs everywhere and they are much quicker than Papa & Grandma! Bet you can guess where this card is heading…..

Did you catch a glimpse of the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen? I used it on both the balloons and the spokes of the wheels. This is such fun stuff to add to an image. Of course my Bug needed Cajun Craze Candy Dots for hubcaps!

The sketch has a line down the right middle so I used White Bakers Twine as Balloon Strings for my representative. The balloons are stamped and then punched with the Balloon Punch found in the Party Punch Pack.

Of course I had to find a way to finish the sentiment that I started on the front of the card. Can you imagine that I could not find a stamp set that had this message…. But, I was able to create it with the Back to Basics Alphabet. Hmmm, maybe I need to add an "s" to slug. What do you think?

Welcome to another sketch challenge. This week fellow Pal & Design Team Member Amy Lazell has provided a fun & challenging sketch.

Here is the sketch.

As you can see, I chose to flip the sketch around so that my strip is on the bottom. That's what is fun about sketches – you can interpret them anyway you want. I have been anxious to try the Party Pop Up Thinlit Dies & this sketch gave me the perfect opportunity.
Ginger's Tips:
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
- Basic Black Cardstck mat 5-1/2 x 4-1/4
- Mat – 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 dsp from It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack
- 2-1/2 Circle from It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.

- Using strips of each of the 3 colors found in It's My Party Cardstock Pack and the Party Pop Up Thinlit Die, cut the pieces for the sentiment and cake plate.
- Using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, attach the strips to the circle.
- Pop the circle and the bottom of the cake plate up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

- Lift up the cake plate bottom and adhere 2 of the Washi Tape patterns from It's My Party Designer Washi Tape.
- Stamp the sentiment from Party With Cake with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement.
- Adhere 2 Crushed Curry It's My Party Enamel Dots.

- Of course, I just had to add some Washi Tape to the inside of my card.
- The sentiment from Party With Cake is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
