A Ginger Snap! Tagged By serene Silhouettes!

I like the look of a dark image stamped on dsp.  Serene Sihouettes has some perfect images for creating just such an image.  I stamped one of those images  with Memento Black Ink on the Crushed Curry dsp from the Flashback paper pack.  It was the ideal size for a tag created by the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

Pulling the Old Olive color from my  card "roots", I used a length of Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon for my tag topper.  This unites my card base with the front of the card.

That tag image combined with the more subtly patterend paper from the Flashback dsp produces a nicely balanced card.  The pop of  color from the Crushed Curry dsp Candy Dots gives life to the black patterns of dsp from the Flashback paper pack.

The Spiral Border Punch breaks the monotony of the black dsp and it also mimics the "squares" of the dsp from the base of my card.

The sentiment from And Many More is also stamped with Memento Black Ink.  One end of the sentiment is banner cut and the other end is adorned with a touch of color provided by a little flower punched from Crushed Curry cardstock using the Itty Bitty Accents Pack.  An Old Olive Candy Dot placed in the cemter of my flower gives another tie-in to the Old Olive card base.

It's time for another color challenge from the Pals paper Arts.

The colors for the challenge today are, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight & Whisoer White.

  • The Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder provides an eye catching background for my card.  In order to add some visual interest and to also ground my card, I chose to use a strip of Daffodil Delight Cardstock that was also embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.
  • Whisper White Banner  & an Old Olive Banner highlight the line between the 2 cardstock pieces.  In addition, a length of Old Olive Baker's Twine tied in a bow adds a sweet accent.
  • The sentiment from Oh My Goodies is inked in both Daffodil Delight Night of Navy.  The "umpteenth" is cut out and popped up on the daffodil delight sentiment which was cut out with a Deco Collection Framelit.

A Ginger Snap! Blooming With Kindness!

I tried the new new Party Pennants Bigz Die for this card and I think that it is a winner!

Tag left

  • After consulting the Color Coach, I used the combo of Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry & Sahara Sand.  I feel like it gives my card a vintage feel.  What do you think?
  • The tag was cut from Sahara Sand Cardstock with the Party Pennants Bigz Die.  I am really digging this size tag!
  • An image from Blooming With Kindness was stamped on the tag with Strawberry Slush Ink.  The sentiment from the same set was inked with Rich Razzleberry Ink & stamped at the top of the flower.
  • Space was left at the top of the tag for a piece of Tea Lace Paper Doilie.  A strip of 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon is topped with a piece of Strawberry Slush Thick Baker's Twine that is tied in a bow.
  • Did you notice that the flower image was inked with VersaMark & stamped randomly on the Rich Razzleberry piece of cardstock?  This is adhered to the Rich Razzleberry card base.  I think that adds to the vintage feel.
  • Finally a sweet Pearl Basic Jewel sits proudly in the middle of the flower.
