Jul 28, 2014 | Birthday, Kids, Masculine |
This month is officially "Male Birthday Month" at my house! My son-in-law, my husband, and 2 grandsons all have August birthdays. Bet you can guess what I did yesterday! I am officially ready for all the August birthdays! Over the course of the month, I will share all of the cards. But today, I am sharing one for my Grandson who is turning 6. He is an avid sports fan. If you play it with a ball, then Carson is interested. That is what made it difficult to create his card. I couldn't pick just one image from Simply Sports.

The color combo from the Color Coach of Garden Green, Soft Sky, & Tangerine Tango fits the outdoor theme. And, I felt that the soft sky was symbolic of the sky while the garden green mimicked the grass. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink & used the Square Framelits to cut them out.

The sentiments from the set were also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Tangerine Tango Cardstock. The Itty Bitty Banners Framelits were used to cut them out. In addition, I stamped "score" with the same ink on an Arrow from the Essentials Wooden Elements. It adds some texture to the card and fits the masculine theme. And, the missing baseball player makes his appearance on the inside of the card.

The sentiments hanging in a row on the left side of my card remind me of one of those sign boards. You know the kind where the boards are held together by ropes or chains and the sign hangs down sometimes swinging in the wind. Okay, saying that makes me want to go back and link those banners with some Linen Thread!

The trio of Garden Green Candy Dots helps to anchor my sentiments. Because this is a special card for a special boy, I lined the envelope with the same patterned paper that I used on the front of the card. It can be found in the Flowerpot Designer Series Paper Pack.
I love to just thumb through my paper until I find a pattern that works with my design and with the current paper special it is a perfect time to stock up! Here's the details.

STAMPIN' UP! SUPPLIES USED:
Jul 26, 2014 | Uncategorized |
My card today is for my favorite son-in-law . He does not like a lot of fuss and prefers simpler cards. I started with a color palette that I think Jason would like – Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay and Tangerine Tango.

Using the Amazing Birthday stamp set, I used my Stampin' Write Markers to ink each section of my sentiment. Then I inked teh word "make" with Smoky Slate & the word "amazing" with Bermuda Bay. Both of these words were fussy cut and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

My Smoky Slate card base is a notecard sized – 3-1/2" x 5". The mats are Tangerine Tango & Bermuda bay. Because my card is rather plain, I wanted to step up the envelope flap with some luscious paper from the Flowerpot dsp pack. The Tangerine Tango stripe is a perfect match to my card and ideal for a man.
Now for the inside of the card.

The sentiment is also from the set Amazing Birthday. It provides a bit of fun for the inside of the card. And, just so you know – Jason is my only son-in-law so it is ok for me to say that he is my favorite!

Jul 25, 2014 | Convention 2014, Sneak Peek |
The Holiday Catalog is filled with delightful products. Packaging your gifts will be so much fun this year because Stampin' Up! has outdone themselves with so many options for our gift giving needs. Today I am sharing a make-n-take from Convention that spotlights several new products.

Although my picture is not the best, the Takeout Box reminds me of a Chinese food takeoutbox. The sides have a slight angle. It is a fairly large box measuring in at 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" high. The tag was created with the new Seasonally Scattered stamp set. It also includes stamps with the words Merry & Love. Look closely at the tag and you will spot 2 more new items. Do you see the wood leaf and the gilimmer feather? Maybe this picture will give you a better peek.

Finally, does the bellyband look familiar? It is another sneak peek of some wrapping paper that is coming in the Holiday Catalog. As you can see, this project is loaded with sneak peeks.
If you don't have a Demonstartor and you would like to receive the Holiday Catalog in August, then shoot me an email and I will see that you get one. I would love to earn your business.

Hugs.
