This month is officially "Male Birthday Month" at my house! My son-in-law, my husband, and 2 grandsons all have August birthdays. Bet you can guess what I did yesterday! I am officially ready for all the August birthdays! Over the course of the month, I will share all of the cards. But today, I am sharing one for my Grandson who is turning 6. He is an avid sports fan. If you play it with a ball, then Carson is interested. That is what made it difficult to create his card. I couldn't pick just one image from Simply Sports.
The color combo from the Color Coach of Garden Green, Soft Sky, & Tangerine Tango fits the outdoor theme. And, I felt that the soft sky was symbolic of the sky while the garden green mimicked the grass. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink & used the Square Framelits to cut them out.
The sentiments from the set were also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Tangerine Tango Cardstock. The Itty Bitty Banners Framelits were used to cut them out. In addition, I stamped "score" with the same ink on an Arrow from the Essentials Wooden Elements. It adds some texture to the card and fits the masculine theme. And, the missing baseball player makes his appearance on the inside of the card.
The sentiments hanging in a row on the left side of my card remind me of one of those sign boards. You know the kind where the boards are held together by ropes or chains and the sign hangs down sometimes swinging in the wind. Okay, saying that makes me want to go back and link those banners with some Linen Thread!
The trio of Garden Green Candy Dots helps to anchor my sentiments. Because this is a special card for a special boy, I lined the envelope with the same patterned paper that I used on the front of the card. It can be found in the Flowerpot Designer Series Paper Pack.
I love to just thumb through my paper until I find a pattern that works with my design and with the current paper special it is a perfect time to stock up! Here's the details.

STAMPIN' UP! SUPPLIES USED:
This is a super card for a super kid! His Grandmother is a super card maker. I love to see what you come up with, you are very versatile. I like how you positioned the card, the colors, the envelop the left side of the card is fantastic,I even like the positioning of the dots. Another winner for sure.
I didn’t like this set at first because I didn’t see great possibilities. I prefer images that show personality and faces and thought this was too flat. You’ve created a GREAT card in spite of that! Thanks for sharing, Ginger. Mary
When I saw this set, I thought of you! You did a great job with the set! I had to smile – I was thinking oh, the left side needs some fake chain or fishing line or something to link them all together! On my way home from work I saw a wooden sign that had three parts to it and she connected them all and it swings in the wind. She used old frayed jute rope – it is an antique shop. Love the colors you used and the green looks like sports turf with white paint edges for some sport! The little candy dots just added to that side of the card! Great job and I think you will have a very happy birthday boy! I like the little wooden arrow with it too. Very cute!
I can hardly wait to see what card awaits us every day and I’ve never been disappointed! I love this card and would seriously think of casing it for my two grandsons, especially the oldest one who plays all the sports! Awesome job!
Won’t he love this card!
What a fun card! I loved this set in the catalog and was a little stumped on what I’d do with it too. This is absolutely fantastic!
