A Ginger Snap! PPA 249 Sketch Challenge!

It's time to play with the PPA again.  Here's the sketch from the talented Nicole Watt.

And, here is my card for the challenge.

Kind & Czy rt

Although I have owned the stamp set Kind & Cozy for some time, I had not inked it up until I made this card.  It is just such a cozy set – perfect name for it!  It reminds me of special times and special feelings.  This is a stamp set that I want to use again but it is on the retiring list.  So, you know what that means.  If you want it, buy it now because it is going away.

My color palette is Early Espresso, Marina Mist & Tangerine Tango with a Whisper White card base. The Early Espresso is embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

For a delicate edge on the bottom of the Early Espresso, I punched a strip of Tangerine Tango with  the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

My favorite part of this card is the sentiment.  I just like the look of it.  The little flowers are a perfect accent for the font.

A Ginger Snap! It’s In The Bag!

Playing with the Bouquet Bigz Die is definitely addicting!  Today I am sharing a project that we are making at my Club Workshop this week.

Pink flower left bag
I was having so much fun that I created 3 samples in different color combos.

Bkue flower bag

The flowers may look like they take a lot of time but they are easy peasy.  As suggested in the video, I used 10 larger petals and 8 smaller petals with 10 – 12 centers for each flower.

I cut centers each time I cut a stack of petals.  Because you can cut 5 pieces of dsp at a time with the Big Shot each flower required only 4 cuts with the Big Shot – 2 for each petal.

Check out the video from Stampin' Up! to see exactly how the flower goes together.

And, the die has more flower options than the one I chose.  It certainly would be possible to make a gorgeous bouquet or a fabulous wreath in addition to decorating the gift bags.

A Ginger Snap! Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge 247!

Time for another color challenge for the PPA.   The colors were definitely a challenge for me this week. But, I used them to create a 10th  Anniversary Card for our daughter & Son-in-Law.

I chose to use Blackberry Bliss as my main color & use the Perfect Plum Elegant Eggplant for accents.  A flower from Flower Patch was stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink on Perfect Plum Cardstock.  After cutting one layer with the Flower Fair Framelits, I snipped 3 more layers & popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals on the base flower.

The heart border from Chalk Lines was stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink on the Whisper White card stock layer.  In addition, I stamped the sentiment from Project Life Remember This with Blackberry Ink on the same Whisper White cardstock.

The butterfly from Papillion Potpourri was stamped with Blackberry Ink on Elegant Eggplant cardstock.  It was punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch & adhered with a glue dot.  The center of the butterfly is adorned with Basic Pearls.

A strip of 3/8" Stitched Blackberry Bliss Satin Ribbon provides an anchor for my flower.  A touch of color is added to the flower with the leaves from Flower Patch which are cut with the Flower Flair Framelits.  The leaf base is stamped with Pear Pizzaz Ink & the veins are stamped with Wild Wasabi Ink.  A few random Pearls are placed around the card.

Hopefully you were able to take advantage of free shipping this week.  If not, there is still time – no minimum required so it is a fabulous time to stock up on the necessities.  Don't forget to check out the Clearance Rack for even more bargains!
