A Ginger Snap! New In Colors & Sneak Peeks & Class of 2015!

It's that time of year again!

IMG_1196

My son & daughter-in-law both teach in a small rural high school and as you can imagine, they know most of the kids graduating.  So, I volunteered to make graduation cards for them.  Bet you could guess that the school colors are red & blue.

These cards are shaped with the Window Frames Collection.  Because the stamp is rather plain, I gold embossed the image and I thought a shaped card would add some interest.

After making the cards, I realized that they would not fit in a standard envelope.  Making envelopes is fun and such a great way to use up old paper!  And, it gives the cards a bit more individuality.

Thank you for your patience with my posting.  I have had a technical problem trying to load my pictures and although it is not permanently fixed, I did find a work around for this post.

While you are here, check out the refreshing new In Colors.  My order is arriving tomorrow sometime so you know that I will be creating and hopefully posting.

A Ginger Snap! Happy Birthday With the Retiring Apothecary Art Stamp!

It's time for another birthday card.

Bday angled rt

Apothecary Art is so handy to make a quick and sophisticated card.  Using the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out my shape is an added bonus to ramp up the card.  In addition to cutting out my sentiment, I also used it to cut the same shape in the front of the card. to make a window.

The image was stamped twice with Memento Black Ink.  The flowers in the first one were colored with Blendabilities.  All I used from the second image was the sentiment. I fussy cut it and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The remaining front of my card was then embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Folder found in the Occasions Catalog.  I am finding this folder goes with many floral images.  Definitely a keeper!

An Elegant Eggplant strip of c.s.  is embossed with the Fancy Fan Folder for added contrast.  It is adorned with a flower from the Pansy Punch that has been spritzed with water, scrunched up, and a few layers peeled back to produce a suede look.  The Petite Petal Punch was used to punch the flower used for the center.  A sweet Pearl adds the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Sadly, both the Apothecary Arts Stamp Set & the Labels Framelits Collection are retiring.  If you want them,  then please don't wait.  Get them before they are gone and only available on ebay for an outlandish price.  Click the shop now button at the top of the page to go to my Online Store.

A Ginger Snap! Walk in the Wild!

Catalog case rt

This card is for my brother who has a birthday coming up soon.  I am delighted with how it turned out and hope that he is too.  I can't take full credit because I cased the card on page 20 from the annual catalog while making some changes.

The Whisper White card base is 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2".  I stamped the moose with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink and then used Aqua Painters with Island Indigo & Old Olive Ink being careful not to color the moose.

The card is anchored with a piece of Old Olive Cardstock that was stamped with the Dictionary stamp in Old Olive Ink.  I am very partial to that look – how about you?  What do you use to anchor your cards?

This piece is topped with an Island Indigo striped pattern found in the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. In turn, that is topped with a narrow strip of Island Indigo card stock.

In order to pull the eye upward, I created an Island Indigo Banner that is topped with a piece of Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon that is folded and adhered to the banner.  A small Basic Metal Button is threaded with Old Olive Baker's Twine & glue dotted to the ribbon.

The sentiment from Yippee-Skippee is colored with Island Indigo & Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers.  The cake from Little Buddy Birthday was stamped in Tuxedo memento Black Ink & colored with the same markers.  The sentiment is punched with the  Decorative Label Punch & the top is trimmed off.

So much of the product that I used on this card is retiring.  If you would like to copy this card, be sure to get the following stamps & paper before they are gone.

  • Walk in the Wild
  • Yippee-Skippee
  • Little Buddy Birthday
  • All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack

You can find these in my Online Store by clicking shop now & clicking on the retired list.
