A Ginger Snap! Skating By With A Birthday Wish!

  Conor strt

Happy 9th birthday to my adorable grandson Conor.  Because Conor plays the guitar, I thought he might enjoy this card.  And, being 9 means that I have to be cautious about the type of card I send him.  He is growing up and I do want to keep pace!

The image is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink but if I were creating this card again, I would use Staz On Black Ink because I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the image.  The markers are water based and work best with an alcohol based ink like Staz On.

However, the shirt is paper pieced.  I stamped the shirt on a piece of paper from the Cherry On Top DSP and snipped it out.  It is adhered to the top of the original image.  Conor has the most beautiful blue eyes so there was no doubt what color I needed to make them for his card.

Background noise & the road were added with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set.  The card front is mounted on a piece of Kraft Corrugated Paper – perfect for a masculine touch!

Hope your birthday was just as perfect as you are Conor!

A Ginger Snap! Hello Handsome!

Cole rt

My 5-year old Grandson likes to receive cards in the mail but he does not want anything mushy – typical boy!  But that doesn't mean that English Garden Designer Series Paper isn't the perfect choice for him.  Check out the decidedly masculine paper that I used on his card.

The Crumb Cake Notecards are just the right size for my card for Cole.  And, they remind me of dirt which is another plus for a little boy.

A small banner created with the Banner Triple Punch is the perfect place for my sentiment from Happy Happenings.  It is stamped with the luscious Mint Macaron Ink – a new In Color.

The banner is attached to the card with a strip of Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape.  The silver stars from the Metallics Sequin Assortment add the final touch.

A cute card for a cute boy!

A Ginger Snap! Market Fresh!

Grapes strt

I was itching to try this stamp set – Market Fresh.  It makes it really easy to create super simple cards that pack a punch.

And, that new Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is awesome!  Can't wait to use it on a masculine card.

The simple narrow banner from Farmers Market Designer Series Paper adds the perfect balance for the purple grapes.

Notice that the corners of the cardstock with the image of the grapes have been rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder to reinforce the circle shape of the grapes.

The image was stamped with Soft Suede Ink & I just couldn't resist using my blendabilities to color the grapes.  But, a blender pen or an Aqua Painter with your choice of ink would work just as well.

The speckles from Gorgeous Grunge are also stamped with stamped off Soft Suede Ink.  A small Linen Thread Bow adds the final touch.

I added a Whisper White card stock piece to the inside of the card.
