Happy 9th birthday to my adorable grandson Conor. Because Conor plays the guitar, I thought he might enjoy this card. And, being 9 means that I have to be cautious about the type of card I send him. He is growing up and I do want to keep pace!
The image is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink but if I were creating this card again, I would use Staz On Black Ink because I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the image. The markers are water based and work best with an alcohol based ink like Staz On.
However, the shirt is paper pieced. I stamped the shirt on a piece of paper from the Cherry On Top DSP and snipped it out. It is adhered to the top of the original image. Conor has the most beautiful blue eyes so there was no doubt what color I needed to make them for his card.
Background noise & the road were added with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set. The card front is mounted on a piece of Kraft Corrugated Paper – perfect for a masculine touch!
Hope your birthday was just as perfect as you are Conor!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs,
Ginger

This is adorable! He will love it! Love how you colored it!
Quite a nice card. I thing Conor will like it. Great idea with the background paper, looks like corrigated paper. I also like the speed marks!
Fun card and I think he will love it! Love the corrugated kraft paper on there. Great idea to piece the shirt, I had not thought about that. Of course the grunge set is perfect for this as well! If this doesn’t say fun for a guy, I don’t know what would! The guitar is another fun touch! Great job putting all this together!
Conor will love this card! I like the stamp, the paper and the whole card!
I ‘d give you an A+ for this card. It’s all boy! Love the card!
