This is a simple card for a simple challenge. Once again it is time for a fun color challenge from the PPA (Pals Paper Arts). Here's the challenge.
Because the Fourth of July is past, I found this challenge a little difficult to wrap my head around until I totally changed my focus from a patriotic card to a more generic card.
I've been itching to use the new Writing Notes Stamp & this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity because I knew that I wanted a lot of "white space". Inking the stamp with Pacific Point Ink and stamping off once created just the shade of "blue" that I wanted for the lines of my paper.
With a birthday theme, I felt that the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder gave my Pacific Point Cardstock layer just the punch it needed. And, it reinforces the stars on the front of my card from the Brights Sequin Assortment.
The large, dynamic sentiment from Watercolor Words is stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder. It makes my sentiment stand out & it satisfies the "silver" requirement for the challenge.
The sweet heart from Watercolor Words is stamped with Real Red Ink & it goes nicely with the Real Red Stars from the Brights Metallic Sequin Assortment.
The final touch is a strip of Silver Washi Tape from the Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape which was used to attach the top layer to the rest of my card base.

It's time for another PPA Sketch Challenge.
And here is the sketch from the talented Nicole Watt that inspired my creation.
Although it is a simple card – my favorite type!, I think it has some nice dimension & texture.
GINGER'S TIPS
cardbase - Tip Top Taupe 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 (perfect for my jungle theme)
Basic Black C.S. – 5-1/4 x 4
Go Wild Designer Series paper Stack – 4-3/4 x 3-1/2 (dotted paper)
4-14 x 1 (arrows paper)
Tip Top Taupe C.S. - 2" Circle punch, embossed with the Zig Zag Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Whisper White C.S. – stamped the giraffe found in Zoo Babies with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink & punched with the 1-3/8 Circle Punch
"Celebrate" from the Expressions Natural Elements adds some nice texture and ramps up the fun. And the wood texture coordinates with the jungle theme.
Three Black Candy Dots from the Neutrals Candy Dot pack provide balance for my card. I know that I love Candy Dots. How about you? Are they a go to element for your cards?
