A Ginger Snap! Sip & Swap!

Convention Swap rt

At Convention this year, there will be about 50 Stampin' Pretty Pals (my Upline is Mary Fish), swapping cards.  Needless to say I started early creating my card.  Of course, I wanted to use some new product so I chose the new stamp set Birthday Blossoms which can be punched out with the returning Pansy Punch.  I spent  a good number nights watching tv and punching my bevy of beauties for my cards.

If you look closely, you van see the background on the Pear Pizzazz card basehas been stamped with both a flower from Birthday Blossoms & Gorgeous Grunge.  It just adds some visual interest to my card.  A snip of Venetian Crochet Trim adds a soft touch and some texture.

A bow made from Linen Thread balances the ribbon edge and adds more texture.  The center of my flowers are punched from Daffodil Delight card stock with the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. Finally, some Pearls add the final touch to my flowers.

The trio of flowers are proudly perched on some Whisper White card stock that was cut with one of the new Lots of Labels Framelits.

After making 100 of these, I am ready fro some swapping!  You know that I will be sharing the swaps I get with you.  Stay tuned!

A Ginger Snap! A PPA 261Sketch Challenge!

I am a little harried today because I have been without Internet Service for 24 hours.  Honestly, I was very concerned about getting my post done before I leave for Convention.

And the sketch from the talented Nicole Watt.

As you can see, I chose to enlarge my circles so that I could use the stamp set Gift From The Garden.  Of course, I just had to use the paper from Farmer's Market.  It is such fun paper!

The Work of Art swoosh provided a nice dab of color behind my garden essentials.  After inking the stamp with So Saffron Ink, I stamped off before stamping on the various circled cut with the Circles Framelits.

Images from Gifts From the Garden are inked with Old Olive Ink and stamped on top of the "swoosh".  A little stitching with an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker adds a boundary for my circles.  A few Old Olive Candy Dots add a nice accent to the circles.

Using card stock from the Farmer's Market Cardstock Pack guarantees a match to my Designer Series Paper.  Starting with a 5" x 10" Hello Honey Card Base, I topped it with a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock which in turn was topped with a beautiful plaid from Farmer's Market dsp.

My sentiment from the same stamp set is inked in Old Olive Ink & stamped on a small banner created with  Hello Honey c.s.  My card felt unbalanced so I added a trio of  Old Olive Candy Dots to the upper right corner.

A Ginger Snap! Happy Birthday Katie!

My Granddaughter Katie turns 8 years old on Thursday.  She is a budding artist – even posting on my blog on occasion.  So, it was no surprise when she told her Mom that she wanted to have an art party.  Of course, I had to get in on the fun too.

After posting this, I saw how crooked my layer was and I just had to fix it.  However, I did not take new pictures but please pretend that it is just right……

Gorgeous Grunge has to be one of my most used stamps.  Somehow it is just fits many of my cards.  With an Art Theme card, I couldn’t go wrong with the splatters and splotches.  Most of the Bright Inks are used in my creation.

Stampin’ Up! played a big part in this card.  Talented Trio – a new stamp in the 2015 – 2016 catalog is exactly what I needed for this card.  The best part, Katie has lots of dark curly hair just like the girl on the stamp!

The inside of the card is also fitting for any aspiring artist.  Splatters and splotches everywhere with a birthday wish tucked in the middle.

A sprinkling of a few Bright Sequins adds a touch of bling to the front of my card.  And a small strip of Everyday Chic Washi Tape seems to pull it all together.

Happy Birthday Dear Katie!
