A Ginger Snap! PPA 301 Color Challenge!

Although I usually play with the sketch challenges, I decided to give a color challenge a try.

I bought this stamp set because I thought it was cute & whimsical but if I have not used it as much as I intended.  However, I was excited to use it for the color challenge today over at the Pals Paper Arts.  What a fun color combo!

My card base is Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  The sweet polka dots can be found in the Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper Pack.  Both the stamp set Hey Girl & the Schoolhouse DSP are on the retiring list.  They will be gone soon so if you want to purchase these for your crafting stash, don't delay!

My images are stamped with Archival Black Ink & heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  Coloring the image with a Blender Pen Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay & Pool Party Ink is easy with the embossed image.

My image piece is mounted on a piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White Cardstock & cut to size.  There is not much room so I had to trim it close.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Remember that all of the items that I used on my card today can be purchased from my Online Store.

A Ginger Snap! Another Sneak Peek!

Swirly Bird is such a fun set with a myriad of possibilities.  One more card from this set and then I will move on to other products.

Bird in Nest rt

Our friend and blog reader Chris R. asked how you could possibly use the bird in this set.  This one is for you Chris!  It's a natural for the bird to sit on the nest with eggs waiting to hatch.  After stamping those images, I banner cut this piece and popped it on top of  a Mint Macaron Scribbly cut with a Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Die. A double Linen Thread Bow adds texture.

The background was created by adding water to a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock followed by drops of Crushed Curry Reinker.  I used a small paintbrush to spread the ink around.  After this piece dried, I stamped some texture in Crushed Curry Ink with some dots found in the Swirly Bird Stamp Set.

A strip of striped paper from the English Garden Designer Series Paper was added just above the bottom of the watercolored background to provide an anchor for my card. It is topped with a banner cut from Mint Macaron Cardstock.  The sentiment from Garden in Bloom is stamped in Soft Suede Ink & popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Bird in Nest Inside

Finally, the inside of the card is also stamped with an image found in Garden in Bloom.  A few butterflies from the same stamp set add a touch of whimsy.

Counting this card I have created 4 very different cards that have posted over the past 4 days.  If you would like to see the others, then please scroll back and check them out.   I would appreciate it if you would please leave me a comment with which card is your favorite.  It will be fun to see what you think!

A Ginger Snap! Another Sneak Peek!

I promised another sneak peek from the Swirly Birds stamp set.

Flowers left

My card base is Whisper White Cardstock which is topped with a piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock that is cut on an angle. The angle is accented by a Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon that is tied in a knot.

Flowers rt

It looks like flowers are growing out of the ribbon. The stems are stamped in Mint Macaron Ink while 2 of the flowers are stamped with Peekaboo Peach Ink & the remaining flower is stamped with Sweet Sugarplum Ink.  In addition, the sentiment from Layering Love is inked with Sweet Sugarplum.

Included in the Swirly Bird Stamp Set is a stamp with various size dots.  This is a nice stamp for adding texture which is what I did behind the flowers & above the sentiment. Because the stamp set includes a bird and you know how well birds & flowers go together, I just had to add a little bird.  It is stamped with Pool Party Ink at a bit of an angle.  The final touch is the addition of tiny pearls to the flower centers & the birds eye.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I appreciate all your comments and read each & every one of them.  If you are able, please let me know what you think about the cards I created using this new bundle.

Ginger
