May 23, 2016 | Birthday, Sneak Peek |
Happy birthday to my dear friend Mary Linn! My card today is done in blues because that is her favorite color. Sure hope she likes it!

This colorful & busy paper is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. The flowers on it reminded me of the flowers from the Swirly Bird Stamp Set & Framelits. Naturally I had to stamp a trio of those flowers in Pacific Point Ink & cut them out with the framelits to make a small bouquet alongside my sentiment. The leaves are also found in the set .

Using Old Olive Cardstock & the Swirly Bird Framelits, I cut a trio of leaves to go with my bouquet. The sentiment from Watercolor Wishes is stamped at an angle on a strip of Whisper White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Look closely and you will spot the sprinkling of small Pearls that form the flowers centers & dot the i's of a few words on the sentiment. A trio of large Pearls help to ground my card.
I am finding the Swirly Bird bundle to be so useful. Guess you already know that based on the number of posts that I have created with the bundle. Although the paper is retiring, the bundle will be available in the new 2016 – 2017 Annual Catalog.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs,
Ginger

May 22, 2016 | Anniversary, Birthday, Celebrate, Sneak Peek |
Today I am sharing a blend of retiring products and some new products. Take a peek.

The Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper provides a soft background for the sentiment from the soon to be released stamp set Perfectly Wrapped. The matching card stock for the paper is Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride, & Mossy Meadow.

The addition of a little flower stamped in Blushing Bride Ink from the Perfectly Wrapped Stamp Set adds some charm to the sentiment which is popped up on a Scalloped Circle cut from Mossy Meadow Cardstock.

The final touch is the addition of some Pearl Basic Jewels around the scallops of the sentiment and one in the center of the flower.

When I saw this card on Dawn Griffith's blog, I knew I had to make it for my friend whose Grandson recently earned his black belt in karate. However, this would be an appropriate card for anyone facing a challenge of any type – someone facing a serious disease, someone making a big change in their life, anyone going through a divorce…..

The Bear Hugs Stamp Set & matching Framelits are just the ticket to create this darling karate bear! Dawn received one in a swap & recreated him on her blog. And, I am casing it for my friend. The bear is stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock with Memento Black Ink. The Bear Hugs Framelits are just the ticket for cutting this guy out. Cut one more bear with the framelits using Whisper White Cardstock. Trim the arms & legs so that his bear paws & claws are visible. Handcut a v in the neck.

The placket is created with 1/8" wide strips of Whisper White Cardstock trimmed to fit the placket. The black belt is created with a 1/4" wide strip of Basic Black Cardstock. The headband is fashioned with a 1/8" wide strip of Basic Black Cardstock.

The sentiment can be found in the Something to Say stamp set. After stamping it with Memento Black Ink, it is punched with the 1-1/2" circle punch and then layered on a 1-3/4" Real Red Circle.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! If you like the bear & framelits consider getting them while they are in a bundle for 15% off. When the new catalog starts on June 1, 2016 this deal will no longer be available.

Ginger
