When I saw this card on Dawn Griffith's blog, I knew I had to make it for my friend whose Grandson recently earned his black belt in karate.  However, this would be an appropriate card for anyone facing a challenge of any type – someone facing a serious disease, someone making a big change in their life, anyone going through a divorce…..

Karate Bear rt

The Bear Hugs Stamp Set  & matching Framelits are just the ticket to create this darling karate bear! Dawn received one in a swap & recreated him on her blog.  And, I am casing it for my friend. The bear is stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock with Memento Black Ink. The Bear Hugs Framelits are just the ticket for cutting this guy out. Cut one more bear with the framelits using Whisper White Cardstock.  Trim the arms & legs so that his bear paws & claws are visible.  Handcut a v in the neck.

The placket is created with 1/8" wide strips of Whisper White Cardstock trimmed to fit the placket. The black belt is created with a 1/4" wide strip of Basic Black Cardstock.  The headband is fashioned with a 1/8" wide strip of Basic Black Cardstock.

The sentiment can be found in the Something to Say stamp set.  After stamping it with Memento Black Ink, it is punched with the 1-1/2" circle punch and then layered on a 1-3/4" Real Red Circle.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  If you like the bear & framelits consider getting them while they are in a bundle for 15% off.  When the new catalog starts on June 1, 2016 this deal will no longer be available.

Hugs,

Ginger
