A Ginger Snap! Who Is That Masked Bandit?

The card for today is a sngle layer, no embellishment card.  Although, it could definitely be blinged up with some pearls , rhinestones or candy dots.

To create this card, use copy paper as a mask for the top and bottom of the card.  Ink up Postage Due in the color of your choice and stamp.  I chose Crisp Cantaloupe.  The mask maintains a nice "white space" on the card.

Select a larger size sentiment, I chose Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set.  Ink it with Black Staz On and stamp in the lower right corner so that the image is partially in the "white space".

Using the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and a ruler, draw lines as shown on the card.  I think I would like my lines to be a bit thicker than what I drew.  And, Candy Dots might be a nice addition to this card.  But, I was keeping it super simple this time.

Oh wait, I am going to do the additions suggested.  Okay, here is what it looks like with the changes.

I made the lines thicker and I added Black candy Dots.

So, what do you think?  Are the changes worthwhile or not?

A Ginger Snap! A Simple Simply Sketched!

There is a debate going on at my house about whether the card today is better with Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  I won't divulge who thinks what because I want you – my blog readers, to break the tie.  Here it is with Whisper White.

Birhday white rt

It is a simple card.  But, I feel that the Calypso Coral Scalloped Border edging the banner along with the addition of the trio of  Basic Rhinestones adds a certain charm to this card.

Same design but pearls instead of rhinestones and with Very Vanilla.

A different angle.

A Ginger Snap! Card in a Box – Not Just for Girls!

Are you as ready for Spring as I am?  Finally, we had a day without snow!  So, my mind drifted to spring and all of the sports that the little ones participate in with the change of weather.  Of course, I wanted to make an appropriate card to mark the transition.

Right
I have been itching to try a card in the box.  But, I have seen so many with flowers, butterflies & birthday themes that I wanted to do something original.  Without a doubt, the more feminine ones are truly spectacular.  However, this one is just fun!

In this picture, you get the best view of the strips of window sheet that allow the various sports balls to pop out of the box.  In reality, they are barely visible.

Straight

The Fringe Scissors made it so easy to make the layers of grass.  Because I am right-handed, I find starting on the left edge of the paper makes it easier for me to see where I have already cut.  For added texture, I used the Stripes Embossing Folder on both the added side pieces and the box sides.  A strip of Natural Composition Specialty dsp helps to ground the grass layers.  A few Black Candy Dots ties in with the balls.

Of course, we want to be able to mail this card.  The next picture shows how the card folds up to fit in a Standard Size Envelope.

As always, if you have any questions about my card, I am only an email away.  Before I leave you, let me share the Weekly Specials.  Lots of good stuff to choose from!
