It's time for more fun with the Pals Paper Arts (PPA). This time it is a color challenge. Check out the color combo below.

For a change, I didn't struggle with a color challenge. I knew that I wanted to use flowers but I wasn't sure which flowers. After one false start, I finally settled in to a grroove with Simply Sketched.

My standard card base is Calypso Coral and it is layered with a pice of dsp from Gingham Garden. The texture on the Pear Pizzaz layer is thanks to the Honeycomb Embossing Folder. The touch of color on the right edge is the result of the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder with a strip of Calypso Coral cardstock. I used Paper Snips to fussy cut around the scalloped edge.
The flower from Simply Sketched is stamped with Black Staz On Ink on Whisper White cardstock. Using a Blender Pen, with both Calypso Coral & So Saffron Ink, made the flowers come to life. The stems are finished with Pear Pizazz Ink. After snipping the flowers out, I popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals on circles cut with the Circles Framelits. A Calypso Coral Button tied with the same color Bakers Twine adorns the last circle.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the flowers. It is stamped on a piece of the dsp which is then flagged to create a banner. The final touches are a bow tied with 3/8" Pear Pizazz taffeta Ribbon and the liberal sprinkling of Pearl Basic Jewels. I am channeling my inner Ann Schach!

Happy 9th Anniversary to my daughter Beth and her husband Jason. It seems like yesterday when we were planning the wedding. Gosh, time does fly! Today is the 9th and it is their 9th Anniversary thus the Golden Anniversary! On Monday, I posted an elegant anniversary card that I made for them but it just didn't fit them. I went back to the proverbial "drawing board" and thought about Beth & Jason. They are young, vibrant and full of life. So, my card needed to reflect those qualities.

I liked the idea of a bright and cheerful card that says "cheers"! The Kaleidoscope dsp has a nice combination of classic polka dot paper and the trendy "triangles" in bright colors. They are actually the reverse of one another. One sheet of paper contains both patterns. Just the dsp that I needed.

Thumbing through the catalog, I spied the Happy Hour Stamp set & knew that it was exactly what I was looking for. After all, this is a happy occassion that merits a toast! I loved the fun accessories in this set – fruit slices, a strawberry and a straw. After stamping them and snipping them out, I popped them up with dimensionals.

The Scalloped Tag Punch provided just the fun that I needed for my "pull-out" tag. The Perfect Couple Stamp set from the Occassions Mini had the ideal sentiment for Beth & Jason. A bow made with Island Indigo Baker's twine completed the tag. All I needed to finish the card was a trio of Rhinestone Basic jewels.

Although my watermark on the next picture is crooked, I still wanted to use it because it is a better picture of my card.

The card is much more vibrant than it appears in the photo. Now, I just have to hope that the card arrived in time!

The last card from the set of Simple Stem cards is what I am sharing today. It probably won't surprise you to learn that the colors used in this card are among my favorites- Coastal Cabana & Crisp Cantaloupe. Some years ago, it was the rage to find out what your best color palette was based on your skin tones. The categories, were based on the seasons – Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Mine was spring. And of course, those truly are the colors that I prefer. Take a peek at the card.

Although the ink and the mat look dark in my picture, they are actually Early Espresso – not black. The flower from Simple Stems is stamped with Crisp Cantaloups ink. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake and it is stamped with Early Espresson Ink.

The sentiment is flagged and attached to the far left of my card. A small piece of Crisp Cantaloupe c.s. is punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch for a sweet accent under the sentiment. The addition of a few Pearl Basic Jewels and my card is complete.
If you have time, I would appreciate hearing what you think of my card today. As always, if you have any questions about how it was created, I would be happy to answer them. If you need any of the supplies used for todays' card, please click on the picture of the item below in order to be taken to my Online Store. I appreciate your business!
