A Ginger Snap! PPA 229

This is definitely a day to be Thankful! Thanksgiving with family, friends, a feast and a Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.  And, all of you my faithful Blog Readers!

Seeing all of the circles on the sketch the first time was definitely intimidating.  I didn't know where to start.  Then I decided to use velluum for the circles and the rest just flowed.

I love the stamp set White Christmas and felt that it would work well with my circles.  Stamping images from White Cristmas directly on the dsp from the All Is Calm dsp pack made it seem as though that was all one layer.

The banner from the sketch was extended on my card in order to accommodate my sentiment and the car carrying the tree.  A little red bird in the tree complements the red car.  And, the green banner hanging between the trees does the same for the tree on the car.

A few snowflakes from Frosted Sequins placed on the velluum circles completes my card.

I struggled trying to get a good picture of my card.  Photographing "blue tones" late in the day is difficult for me.  Hopefully you can still get a good idea of what my card looks like.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Ginger Snap! More Merry!

Yesterday, I mentioned that when I did the Baby wipe techniqu, I was able to stamp multiple cards.  Using one of those for my starting point, I created a different look.

Merry Apothecary open

I find it difficult cards like this one that have a cutout front.  If you have any hints to share about photographibg these cards, I'd love to hear them!

Merry Apothecary right
After using the baby wipr technique, I used the Apothecary Framelit to cut out my image and a matching cutout on the fron of my card base.  The "white merry" was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals on the inside of my card so that it would pop through the opening in the card base.

For added texture, I embossed the front of my card base with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder. I have to admit that my card base is Gumball Green – a discontinued In Color. But, it was the perfect match and I had a lot of it.
