A charming Hostess Stamp Set called Pun Intended will be available in the new 2016 – 2017 Stampin' Up! Catalog when it is available on June 1st.
Although my card is just 3" x 3", it could easily work with a larger size. A stamp from Gorgeous Grunge inked in Smokey Slate & stamped off provides some background texture for the main attraction. The swirl of circles reminds me of the path a bee might fly. The image is courtesy of Project Life Memories in the Making (soon retiring) and is stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink.
A strip of Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape adds a pop of color and breaks up the intensity of the swirls. A sentiment from the Pun Intended Stamp Set is embossed with White Embossing Powder on a strip of Basic Black Cardstock that is then cut with a Project Life Cards & Labels Framelit. I modified the cutout by making it both narrower & shorter.
The bee from Pun Intended is stamped with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink & colored with a Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker. After fussy cutting it, I popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals. A trio of Rhinestone Basic Jewels adds the finishing touch.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate your support and hope that you are enjoying the sneak peeks that I have been providing.
Hugs,
Ginger
What a fun card! You out did yourself!
Cute little being! It definitely is worth a smile.
What a BEEuty of a card! Was this set made for me? Made me smile and almost a giggle thinking of other things that can be used with the bee. I still like the “What’s Buzzin Cuzzin?” I saw on a card in a magazine once. My cousin probably would laugh but think I maybe went off the deep end! I like the pattern on the bee too. Is that swirly part a stamp? It reminds me of one of the Paper Pumpkin sets that had a gold swirly punch out or sticker that I loved. I like the washi tape for the pop of color and those little rhinestones always make me smile when used with the grunge type of stamp! Yep, you are right about the bees and there buzzing around in circles, Ted was dead set on snapping at a bumble bee today as it was circling a flower. I caught him before he got too close. That is all we would need as to make a trip to the vet for a stung nose on his way to camp to be boarded. I have to be at the hospital at 10:00 tomorrow so I should be done by 1:00 or 1:30 I would think. I am sure all will go well (hope so anyway!). Talk to you later! Fun card!
