I am smiling because today is my daughter Beth's birthday. Yes, Beth & her brother Chris have birthdays that are 2 days apart. This time of year was always fun in our home with 2 birthdays so close together. Beth is energetic, adventursome, thoughtful and so much fun to be around. My card today reflects that description.

Did you guess that I would be using the Playful Palette Designer Series paper Stack? It has the perfect color palette for Beth. With the vibrancy of this paper, I chose to keep the card simple.

Ginger's Snaps:
- Very Vanilla Card Base, 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2",
- Basic Black Mat 4-1/8" x 5-3/8",
- Playful Palette Mat 4" x 5-1/4",
- Very Vanilla Mat 4" x 2-1/4", stamp the sentiment from Stylized Birthday with Sweet Sugarplum Ink on the right side of the mat.
- Cut 2 scribbles from both Basic Black & Sweet Sugarplum C.S. using the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits. Attach these by slightly overlapping them after applying glue with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.
- Stamp candles from the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set using Sweet Sugarplum & Emerald Envy Inks. Cut out with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits, Attach a short piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine to the top of both candles. Attach to the card,
- Tie a bow with Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine & attach with a Glue Dot to the criss crossed candles.
- Apply 2016 – 2018 In Color Heart Enamel Shapes.

Happy Birthday Beth! Hope it is every bit as special as you are to us!

Needing thank you cards is a great incentive to sit down and create some. Today I am sharing a clean & simple card created for a friend who likes crumb cake and simple cards.

Sometimes I find it more difficult to make a clean & simple card because I am so tempted to emboss, or add more embellishments or even layers. But, knowing what my friend likes made this card fairly simple.

Ginger's Snaps:
- Crumb Cake Card Base, 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4",
- Strip of Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack, 1-5/8" x 5-1/2",
- Stamp the sentiment from One Big Meaning on a Crumb Cake Banner with Early Espresso Ink, 1-1/4 " x 4"
- Add a trio of White Perfect Accents that have been colored with a Dark Crumb Cake Blendability (retired)

Oct 16, 2016 | Birthday, Masculine |
Today will always be a special day at my house because it was the day that my son Christopher was born. He was a happy child who provided my husband and I with much joy. And he has grown into a fine man with a family of his own. Happy Birthday Chris!
Chris and his family live in a small rural town. Their home is in a beautiful setting with trees and lots of wildlife. Often when we visit we see deer, elk, turkeys, and they have even had a bear & a mountain lion. I couldn't resist the stamp set In the Meadow for his birthday card..

The Woodlands Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is the perfect choice for me to be able to create the deer so they are standing in the trees – much like they do at Chris' home.

Does the sentiment seem a bit odd for a birthday card? There is more to it so please read to the end of my post.
And, the inside of my card.
