Oct 25, 2016 | Christmas |
Today I am sharing a card that reminds me of a wrapped Christmas Package. It hs a sweet tag and a warm plaid paper resembling wrapping paper.

I think the idea for this card came from being wrapped in a shawl for most of the day as I try to get over the bug I caught from my Grandsons. The shawl is a hand knitted gift from my sister Margie and it is delicious treat to wrap up in it – especially when I am under the weather! I know – what a sweet sister!

Ginger's Snaps:
- Whisper White card base – 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4",
- Layer a piece of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" plaid paper from the Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Wrapped in Warmth Stamp Set with Archival Black Ink on Crumb Cake C.S. Stamp the ornaments from the stamp set with stamped off Garden Green Ink. Punch out with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch,
- Wrap 3/8" Cherry Cobbler Ribbon around the card & through the hole in the tag. Tie a knot & then a bow.
- Adhere the Mini Pinecones with Glue Dots or tie on with Linen Thread.

Although I am late posting today, I am thankful to be able to post. Two of my Grandsons where here and both got sick. Unfortunately, so did I. I am not well yet but making progress. And, I had this card ready so I wanted to share it.

My card is created with a combination of several stamp sets. Can you pick them out?

Ginger's Snaps:
- Emboss the front of the Crumb Cake card base with the Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
- Layer the patterned paper from Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper onto a piece of Garden Green Card stock.
- Stamp the swing from Sitting Here with Early Espresso Ink onto a piece of Whisper White C.S.. Use a Blender Pen & the ink to color the swing.
- Using a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge, ink it with Crushed Curry Ink & stamp off prior to stamping around the swing.
- Stamp the trio of pumpkins found in Spooky Fun on Pumpkin Pie C.S. with Tangerine Tango Ink. Use a Blender Pen & Ink to shade the pumpkins.
- Add a strip of Garden Green C.S. beneath the swing to ground it. Tie a piece of Linen Thread just above the strip.
- Pop the swing piece up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Oct 22, 2016 | Birthday, Sketch Challenges |
Today I am featuring a simple card that I created for the Global Design Project #GDP058. This is a sketch challenge.

As you can see, this is a simple card created by following the sketch which is shown below.

My goal with my card today is to show that Christmas stamp sets from the 2016 -2017 Holiday Catalog can often be used in more generic ways. For example, Here's To Cheers on page 39 of the catalog is used to create my card today when paired with the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.

The pop of color provided by Emerald Envy Cardstock provides a nice accent for both patterns of DSP. Beacuse the DSP is bright, cheerful & a bit busy, I chose to ink my stamp with Archival Black Ink & stamp directly on one of the patterns from the DSP. It worked well because the pattern does not interfer with the words of the sentiment.

This is a bright and cheery card suitable for adults or kids.
I also created the same card using Melon Mambo as my accent color which would definitely be more feminine.

Here is another look.

Which card do you prefer – the Emerald Envy or the Melon Mambo?
