Today I am featuring a simple card that I created for the Global Design Project #GDP058. This is a sketch challenge.
As you can see, this is a simple card created by following the sketch which is shown below.
My goal with my card today is to show that Christmas stamp sets from the 2016 -2017 Holiday Catalog can often be used in more generic ways. For example, Here's To Cheers on page 39 of the catalog is used to create my card today when paired with the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.
The pop of color provided by Emerald Envy Cardstock provides a nice accent for both patterns of DSP. Beacuse the DSP is bright, cheerful & a bit busy, I chose to ink my stamp with Archival Black Ink & stamp directly on one of the patterns from the DSP. It worked well because the pattern does not interfer with the words of the sentiment.
This is a bright and cheery card suitable for adults or kids.
I also created the same card using Melon Mambo as my accent color which would definitely be more feminine.
Here is another look.
Which card do you prefer – the Emerald Envy or the Melon Mambo?

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
It may be a simple card but it is bright and cheerful!Save it to send to someone on a gloomy day, it is uplifting. Nice work.
These cards make me smile! Love the colors, the design and the stamp set! Good job!
Sometimes simple is the best and you nailed these Ginger. They are a party on a card! Thanks so much for playing at Global Design Project with us this week.
Oh what fun! I had to look at the set as I totally forgot about that set. This stamp works so well as a birthday, anniversary or anything that needs celebrating! I love when that happens – getting more bang for my buck! Anyway this is fun and of course festive. I like these two papers and have made birthday cards with them. You could use any type of sentiment on there to brighten someone’s day. I like the Emerald Green one the best as I am still not super fond of Melon Mambo. You could use any of the colors in the swags and confetti. I like the confetti paper as there are fun hearts in there and other shapes. Paula said it well, “Party on a card!”
Love these cards! Simple cards that pack a punch! I wouldn’t have thought of using it this way so thanks for another great eye opener for me! Love the cards!
