A Ginger Snap! Bricks, Mortar & Flowers!

My card for today is showcasing Love & Affection again. But tomorrow I will move on to some more new product!

Brick Wall rt

My card base is Mint Macaron Card Stock which is embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I like the look of flowers cascading down a wall.

Using the Masking Technique, I stamped various flowers & leaves from the Love & Affection Stamp Set with Archival Black Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock.   The centers of the flowers were stamped with Rich Razzleberry Ink Heat Embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I did this so that when I watercolored the flowers, the centers wouldn't run.

These images were then Watercolored with an Aqua Painter , Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach&  Sweet Sugarplum Ink.  The leaves were all stamped with Mint Macaron Ink. I fussy cut the cascading flowers so more of the brick wall would be visible on my card.

I just could not resist placing a pearl in the center of each flower. The only thing that varied was the size of the Pearl. The sentiment, also from this stamp set, was inked with Archival Black Ink & stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock in order to match the flower piece.

Oops, after previewing my post, I see that I missed putting a pearl on one flower.  Can't wait to go fix it!

A Ginger Snap! Love & Affection!

I saw a card on the Artisan Blog Hop that I really liked.  It used a masking technique so I gave it a try.

The Love & Affection Stamp Set  contains some exquisite stamps that are perfect for producing simple cards that look beautiful.  And, many of the fabulous Stampin' Up! Demonstrators have used this set to perfection.  I saw one today created by Jennifer Frost when I was viewing the Artisan Blog Hop.

The card base is Mint Macaron.  Because I watercolored the image I used Shimmery White Cardstock for my stamped layer.  The inks used on my card are Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive. The left side of my card is adorned with a strip of Affectionately Yours Washi Tape - it is also Mint Macaron.

A sweet Whisper White Baker's Twine adds the final touch to my card.

I stamped both the flower & the leaf images on a post-it note, fussy cut them  and put them in the case with the stamps for future use.  The masking technique is perfect for this stamp set because it allows me to group flowers together in a realistic fashion with some flowers appearing behind others flowers.

I am anxious to try this technique again.  You can bet that I will be posting more cards created with this suite of products.

A Ginger Snap! It’s That Time of Year & Thoughtful Banners!

My Granddaughter Katie will be finished with school soon and she just found out that she made the softball All Star team for the 8 & under league.  Of course, I wanted to send her a card to note her accomplishments.

My card was created with lots of new product.  The Thoughtful Banners Bundle makes it possible to punch the banners from each of the new In Color Cardstock Packs & to stamp the sentiments on them in Archival Black Ink.  The stamp set has an amazing variety of sentiments.  I just chose a few that I know are so appropriate for Katie.

My card base is Very Vanilla & it is accented with both dsp & Washi Tape from the Playful Palette DSP Stack. On the right side of the card, I placed a narrow strip of the matching dsp & used a Project Life Journaling Pen to draw a fine line alongside the dsp.Beacause this is a simple card, I decided to carry over the Playful Palette dsp Washi Tape to the inside of my card.

Playful Palette Dsp Stack  Washi Tape are so bright & vibrant that I smile every time I use them.  And they are the perfect combo for a card for Katie.
