A Ginger Snap! The Fox & The Birthday!

Yea!  My order arrived with a stamp set that I have been itching to try - Stylized Birthday.

My intention was to make a simple card but one that had some interesting elements.  After selecting my designer series paper, I decided a Whisper White Doilie would add some charm to my card.  And, it just built from there.

You have to look hard to see the Silver Metallic Thread behind the doilie but I promise that it is there.

A Ginger Snap! Lego Fun!

Legoes left

I saw this card on Tammi White's blog and knew that it would be one that I would create because I have 3 Grandsons who all like legos.  As you can see, it is a simple card with just 1-layer,  But the bright primary colors are eye catching and so appropriate for legos.

The legos are stamped with Black Archival Ink & then colored with Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point & Emerald Envy.  The inside of the card is equally fun because of the sentiment.

That sentiment just tickles me!  I used a different sentiment for one of the cards. But, it packs a great message too.

Inside 1

Both of the stamp sets that I used are retired but if you are interested in them watch the clearance rack. They just might appear.  I used Boys Will Be Boys for the outside of my card & Words of Truth for the inside.  I am delighted to tell you that all 3 of my Grandson's loved their cards.

A Ginger Snap! PPA 304 Sketch Challenge!

It's time for another PPA Sketch Challenge and this week fellow Pal & creative paper crafter Lisa Ann Barnard has created a fun challenge. Check it out.

PPA 304 sketch

I took some creative liberties and chose to rotate the sketch 180 degrees.  After my rotation, the circle ended up on the top right of the sketch and I chose to use my cutout flower for that element of the sketch.  It was created from Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock using the Flourish Thinlits Dies.  In addition, I used the Flourish Thinlits Dies to cut the large flourish from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.

Left

Although my card base is Whisper White card stock,  I added color by using several patterns from the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper Pack mounted on Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.  I love the look of Sweet Sugarplum & Rich Razzleberry!

The small sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set which is bundled with those fabulous Flourish Thinlits Dies. It is stamped with Rich Razzleberry Ink and the end is banner cut.  It is placed at an angle in order to mimic the angle created with the piece with the large flourish.

The final touch is a piece of  3/8" Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon whiz is knotted & attached to the stem of my flourish with a Glue Dot.
