A Ginger Snap! Cards in a Box Directions!
During the past week, I posted 12 cards that fit in a box and are all made from 1/2 a pack of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper. Today I am sharing the directions needed to make those cards. The box directions will be posted tomorrow. Thanks to Jackie Bolhuis for the inspiration.
Start with a package of Designer Series Paper of your choice. I am working with Blooms & Bliss DSP. Separate the package in half so that you have 1 sheet of each pattern. You should have 6 sheets of paper.
Cut the 12" x 12" sheets in half. Then take one "set" of the 6" x 12" pieces and cut those into 3 sets of 6" x 4" pieces. You will only use 2 sets for the 12 cards. Remove one set of the 6" x 4" pieces for later use.
Cut 2 of each 6" x 4" piece into 3 pieces: 3 x 4, 2-1/4 x 4, & 3/4 x 4. Two examples are pictured below.
Take 2 sheets of each of the colors in the Blooms & Bliss Coordinating Cardstock Pack. I did choose to use some Rich Razzleberry Cardstock in addition for some of my cards. Cut each piece in half – either 11 x 4-1/4 or 8-1/2 x 5-1/2.
Now it is decision time! What combinations are you going to choose for your cards. Here is one idea.
Pick the 2 pieces that are 3 x 4 & 2-1/4 x 4 from the same pattern piece.
Flip one the other way so you can see the 2 different prints.
Use the 3/4 x 4 inch strips on whatever cards they look best. I lay out my cards and try to find the best match for each within the constraints of the possibilities.
Choose a card base for each. It is like a puzzle to see which looks best on which card base. Some look better with a different orientation.
You get the idea. Adhere all the pieces and select a sentiment for each card. Select stamps from your stash that have the font you want as well as the sentiment.
I embellished with some of the remaining card stock and various punches. In addition, you may want to add Pearls, Rhinestones, or Enamel Shapes.
With the remaining stack of 6 x 12 pieces of dsp, you can choose to either make envelope liners for each card or just decorate the flap. To make liners, you need the discontinued Envelope Liner Framelits. Cut your paper into 6 x 6 squares & cut with the framelit.
If you are just covering the flap there is no need to cut the paper. You can adhere it to the flap & trim. You will have leftovers for another use.

I promised to share a few photos from our family vacation. This is the whole group (10 of us) waiting to board the plane in salt Lake City. You can imagine the ration we gave Jason about being on the phone!

Katie & Cole are super excited because they have never flown & they have not been to Disneyland. All in all, it is a pretty exciting time for both of them. Their Mom brought them the ears & hat from Orlando when she visited Disneyland
Although Carson & Conor have been to Disneyland & flown on a plane, they were still very excited to experience it all with Katie & Cole. Their kindles certainly helped them pass the time with a 3-1/2 hour layover.
It was a fabulous trip with lots of activity, laughter, and excitement! I know that I am extremely grateful that we could arrange a family vacation and everyone could attend. Memories of a lifetime!
