A Ginger Snap! The Happiest of Birthdays!

Has there ever been a stamp set or bundle that you were not crazy about but you ended up getting it for one reason or another?  That describes me and the Birthday Fiesta Bundle.  While I thought it was perfect for folks in the Southwest, it just didn't resonate with those of us up north.  However, I decided that it would be more of a challenge to use a set that I didn't think I needed than one that I love.  Consequently my card for today….

I used many of the items from the Fiesta Birthday Suite and I can honestly say that I am anxious to use this set again.  It truly does have many useful stamps & framelits.  Coordinating with the colors listed from the Festive Birthday DSP, I chose a Tempting Turquoise Cardbase.   The Festive Textured Inpressions Embossing Folder added some fun texture to the from of my card.    This embossing folder is definitely a keeper!

Both DSP patterns can be found in the Festive Birthday Pack and they scream birthday  I used a die from the Fiesta Time Framelits to cut the orange dot paper.  I thought it added a bit of fun to my card.  The sentiment from Birthday Fiesta was colored with several Stampin' Write Markers – Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Emerald Envy & Crushed Curry.

I stamped a few lines with Crushed Curry Ink using a stamp from Birthday Fiesta.  After stamping a few flowers with Melon Mambo & Crushed Curry Ink, I added a sprinkling of Rhinestone Basic jewels.

I felt that the inside needed some love too so I stamped a cactus from the same stamp set with Emerald Envy Ink.  For my many friends & family living in the southwest, I can now create an appropriate card!

A Ginger Snap! Falling Flowers Meets Floral Specialty DSP!

The 2016 -2018 In Color Collection is fabulous!  Picking just one favorite color from this lineup is difficult.  With that said, I can pick one for just today – and it is the beautiful Flirty Flamingo.  My card today is monochromatic and I think that it has a nice ambience about it.  Be sure to let me know what you think.

Just a Note rt

As I was separating paper for my shares, I noticed that some of the patterns in the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper coordinated with the gorgeous new stamp set Falling Flowers.  In addition, Stampin' Up! has matching framelits so no fussy cutting required.  This collection is actually called Irresistibly Floral & can be found on page 126 -127 of the 2016 -2017 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

Beacause I was short on time, I wanted to create a fairly simple card.  After selecting which piece of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty DSP that I wanted, I grabbed one of the new Sponge Brayers.  These are perfect for adding color to my selected paper.  After Inking the brayer with Flirty Flamingo Ink, I rolled it across my dsp.  Remember to start off your paper so that you don't get harsh lines.  Just ink and roll – pretty simple.  Use a tissue to wipe the ink off of the embossed areas of the paper after the paper is inked.

As long as I was going for a monochromatic look, I chose Flirty Flamingo 3/8" Ruched Ribbon to add texture to my card.  In addition, I stamped a flower from Falling Flowers with Flirty Flamingo Ink on Flirty Flamingo Cardstock.  The May Flower Framelits worked perfectly for cutting out the flower.  Of course, I had to add some Pearls to the center.

After adding a dimensional to the bottom of the flower, I coiled some Copper Metallic Thread & attached it to the back of the flower.  You will have to look close in order to see the Metallic Thread.  The sentiment from Flourishing Phrases is stamped on Whisper White Cardstock with Flirty Flamingo Ink. It is cut out with a Project Life Cards & Labels Framelit & adorned with an In Color Enamel Shape.

The inside of my card has a thin strip of the inked Irresistibly Floral DSP.  This helps to tie the inside of my card to the front.
