Quite possibly you have popped over here from Mary Fish's blog. How lucky am I that I found Mary and signed up to be a Demonstrator under her. The "Pals" are such a great community. They offer camaraderie, support and tons of creative energy. I am pleased to be a guest blogger today on Mary's blog.
Normally I don't spend a lot of time on my cards but the Pop 'n Cuts Die has really fired up my creative juices. It makes me think about all of the things that we can pop-up. Do you find that you get inspiration for cards everywhere? Walking up the stairs to my home, I spotted the half-barrel that we plant flowers in every summer. As the wheels turned in my head, I thought about the possibility of a a pop-up barrel on a card. And, as they say, "the rest is history". lol

I saw this darling paper-pieced elephant on a display board at Convention last year and I knew then that I would use it on a card. When Stampin' Up came out with the Pop 'n Cuts Die and the Dress Form Pop 'n Cuts Die, my mind started racing with how I might incorporate all three. After tweaking the elephant so that it would fit, the card came together rather quickly.

The World Spectatcular dsp fits the circus theme perfectly, All I needed to do was use the Labels Collection framelits to cut out a key phrase. The elephant ears are cut from the Butterfly Bigz Die.

I felt that the outside of the card needed to welcome you enough that you would want to look inside. Here's what I created for the outside. Again, no stamping. I just cut the dsp with the Windows Frames Collection.

Although this post is a wedding card, it would be easy to change it up for a birthday, congratulations or any other celebration involving a cake. On the whole, I was pleased with how it turned out. Of course, if I made it again, I might refine some of the design.

Obviously, I am not planning to put this card in an envelope. If you look at the inside of the card, you will notice that there is a scalloped envelope attached. My plan is to put a check or gift card in the enevelope. Because the card contains the gift, it would be appropriate to wrap the card in tissue paper and then place it in a small box to be wrapped beautifully and tied up with a gorgeous bow.
