Although this post is a wedding card, it would be  easy to  change  it up for a birthday, congratulations or any other celebration involving a cake.  On the whole, I was pleased with how it turned out.  Of course, if I made it again, I might refine some of the design.

Obviously, I am not planning to put this card in an envelope.  If you look at the inside of the card, you will notice that there is a scalloped envelope attached.  My plan is to put a check or gift card in the enevelope.  Because the card contains the gift, it would be appropriate to wrap the card in tissue paper and then place it in a small box to be wrapped beautifully and tied up with a gorgeous bow.
