Today we are celebrating the 5th birthday of my Grandson Carson. From the time he was small, Carson has loved any type of sport that involved a ball. So, it is no surprise that the theme of his party is centered around a ball. His biggest decision was which ball to pick!
But, he finally settled on a soccer theme. I wanted to make a special card for him and for awhile, I was really in a quandary. Then it hit me! I would make a spinner card and let the soccer ball spin in order to imitate a kicked soccer ball.

If you tilt this card to the right, then the ball spins to the right. Follow this by tilting the card to the left to get it to spin to the left. Honestly, I am delighted with how it turned out and I think he will be too.

Notice the Honeycomb Embossing Folder mimics the pattern in the soccer ball. The color combo is just the colors of the ball along with the green for grass.
This is the inside of the card.

First, I had a double post a few days ago. If you missed the Christmas Door post, just scroll down a few posts and you can still catch it. Now, on to the post for today.
My husband and I feel very blessed to have a wonderful son-in-law. Not only is he a great husband and father, but he is a great son-in-law too! Jason is always looking for projects that he can do to help us. The only down side is that he lives about 7 hours from us so we don't see him as often as we otherwise would. My card today is for his birthday.

Of course, I needed a card that was masculine, but I still wanted some color. My card base is Smoky Slate cardstock. Embossing it with the Woodgrain Folder ramps up the nmasculine quality. To liven it up, I added a piece of Bermuda Bay that was cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits and then embossed with the Chevron Folder. But even guys like a touch of color….

The sentiment was stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink & it was also cut with the Apothecary Framelits Die. The sentiment was stamped a second time so that I could trim the word "birthday" and pop it up with Stampin' Dimensionals. The Scallop Border Punch was used on Tangerine Tango and placed just below the birthday banner. A few Tangerine Tango Candy Dots highlight "happy".
For an extra "wow" factor, I made a matching envelope using a piece of Smoky Slate dsp from the Neutrals dsp Pack. Oops – I just noticed that it has white in it and I used Very Vanilla on the card.

Stampin' Up! is offering an exciting new product called Build a Banner Simply Created Kit. I had the best time creating the 3 banners shown below.

Check out the video by clicking on the link below to see what is included in the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit, the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit and to get some tips about creating the Spooky Banner.
Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit
Two Accessory Kits are available to assist you in decorating your banners. Besides the Halloween Kit, there is a Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit. I used this kit to create my JOY Banner. If you prefer, you can add your own touch to your banners by adding whatever you choose.
In addition to the basic kit, you can also purchase the Banner Simply Created Kit which contains 18 more penants with 9 feet of jute twine. This kit does not contain the stencils. I bought this kit along with the kit that contains the stencils because I can think of many other banners that I would like to make. How about Thanksgiving, Valentines, Easter, Birthdays, Welcome, Baby, Welcome Home, a childs name for their room, etc.
For me, the CELEBRATION BANNER will be my go to banner. Just think , birthdays, graduations, winning a game, good report card, promotion, raise, losing weight, finishing a project – you get the idea. Everyone in your family could get involved deciding when to hang the banner! I can just hear my Grandchildren asking if something they accomplished merits hanging the banner!
I am so excited about these kits that I am offering a class. You decide if you want one, two, or the best deal – all 3 banners. All three of my banners were created using the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit and both Accessory Kits.
Look for more information this week. In the meantime, please let me know if you are interested in this class by leaving ne a comment or sending me an email.
If you prefer to create your banners in the privacy of your home, then just click on the shop now button at the top left of this page to be taken to my online store. And, remember that I am only an email away if you have any questions.
