A Ginger Snap! Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit

From the moment that I spotted the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit in the Holiday Mini from Stampin' Up!, I knew that I would be using it for my Thanksgiving Dinner.

Folders

It is a wonderful opportunity to share what has been important for me and my loved ones during the past year.  Even the little ones can share what they are thankful for – someone can write it for them if they are not old enought.  Don't you think that it would be great to put these in a scrapbook.  As you can tell from the picture, the belly bands slide so you can position them wherever you want.  Mine are not secured yet.

Single Folder

The chalkboard banner is just waiting for a name to be written on it with the Chalk Marker.  And look at the insert that comes as part of the kit.

Thankful Sheet

I stamped the Thankful for with the Thankful stamp that is also from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Stampin' Up! thought of everything when they created this kit.  IIn addition to what I showed you above, the kit contains, napkin holders, centerpiece wraps, table tents and even achalkboard marker!

Candle

Isn't the paper used for the band on my candle yummy?  The texture is really defined.  Let me show you a close up.

I am itching to use this birch paper on a card.

Here's what comes in the kit.

A Ginger Snap! PPA 173 Sketch Challenge!

My card for the PPA Sketch Challenge is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" square .  Making envelopes for cards that are not the usual size is a breeze now that we have the Envelope Punch Board.  I will talk some more about that later.  First, take a peek at my card & envelope.

The talented Nicole Watt provided the sketch for the challenge today.

I turned the sketch on its side for my card design.  The sentiment from Halloween Bashwas my starting point & the rest of the card was built around it.  Stampin' Markers allowed me to color the words from the sentiment in different colors.  I like that look!   And, the Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper had the perfect paper to work with my sentiment.

Double sided paper makes the best envelopes because you don't have to worry about lining the envelope.  The very vanilla layer was embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder.  I chose it because I felt that it fit with the pattern created by the banners with their flag ends.

A trio of banners in Champagne Glimmer Paper & Summer Starfruit add some fun to the right-side of my card.  A Pumpkin Pie Banner anchors the bottom and it helps to make the spider pop.  A few Basic Black Candy Dots add the finishing touch.

Honestly, I am a little surprised by just  how often I have used the Halloween Bash stamp set.  It is so versatile.  Check out the images from the set.

A Ginger Snap! Craft Creations & the Cutest Halloween Stamp Ever!

Stampin' Up! just released the cutest new Halloween stamp set!  You can bet that I am ordering it today!

Screen Shot 2013-09-24 at 9.46.36 AM

So many great images.  Love the spider web and of course the black cat.  It is to Halloween what a simple black dress is to fashion.

If you have noticed my absence from my posting, it is because I was hosting a scrapbooking/stamping retreat for 17 ladies.  It was a fun filled 4 days!  But, if you have ever done anything like it, you know how tiring it can also be.  The question every year is "are you going to do this again next year?"  Can you guess what my response is to this question?  Let me answer it by saying that I have already booked the venue next year for the 3rd weekend in September. Mark the date – I'd love to have you join us for the fun, laughter, and exchange of ideas.

I do have a few pictures to share with you of some the gifts that the participants received during the weekend.  Gotta keep everyone hydrated so a cute bottle of water is a neccessity.

A closer look at the holder.

Everyone enjoys having some "munchies" during the event.

Trick or treat apothecary

These are created with the Tags 4 You Stamp Set & the largest of the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I am not sure where I saw this idea but it is cased.

Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Num Num

The Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit is so easy to use when you need a lot of treats.  The coordinating stamp set, Oh Goodie, provides the perfect sentiment.  Fill the bag with a treat and you are ready!

Notebook outside

Because there is so much sharing going on at an event like this, I wanted everyone to have a way to jot down notes.  A simple composition notebook was  personalized for each attendee.  For example, my friend who loves pink received a book decoarated just for her.  No two were alike. This is a picture of the book that I made for me.  And of course, a matching pen is essential.

Following are pitures of both the back of the book and the inside front cover.

It was a great weekend!  Now I am off to start putting things away.  Thankfully, it is all unloaded and in the house because snow is predicted for morning. YIKES, I am not ready for winter!
