MAP IT OUT
Hey, everyone! Here are the latest and greatest photopolymer sets from Stampin’ Up!
I had a major travel bug at the beginning of the summer and it manifested itself in these two new sets: Map It Out & Greetings From. They’re great by themselves, but when used together they can help you create customized maps for so many things: save-the-dates, moving postcards, travel keepsake containers, and just-saying-hello cards, to name a few.
Most of the images fit perfectly on the smallest clear blocks, and are easy to layer and line up. But be careful not to lose any of the little pieces—they are sneaky! (California almost didn’t make it to the photo shoot!) They also coordinate nicely with our circle punches (US/CA)—letting you create easy tags or embellishments for scrapbook pages.
The greetings from the Greetings From Stamp Set fit perfectly around the state abbreviation icons from the Map It Out set. Add a dashed line, an “x” to mark the spot—and other fun details—and you’ve got a perfect postcard to send to friends and family to let them know you’ve moved.
I stole a journal from the Try Me Paper Pumpkin kit, and embellished it with some stamping to make a travel journal. It’s the perfect size to bring on a trip and make notes along the way.

Hi Blog Readers!
Please forgive my absence the past few days. Honestly, my back was such that sitting at the computer was problematic for me. Fortunately, I am able to share with you today. And, I am excited to show you how to make the most ornate snowflake on page 13 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.
Look closely and you will see that the snowflake has 4 layers. Let's talk about each layer and how it was created.
Bottom Layer :
Using Versamark Ink, Stamp the largest snowflake from Festive Flurry on Soft Sky Cardstock. Sprinkle with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Using the Big Shot and the matching Festive Flurry Framelits Die, cut out the snowflake image.
Layer 2:
Stamp the largest Festive Flurry Snowflake image on Whisper White cardstock using Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad. Use the Big Shot and the matching Festive Flurry Framelits Die to cut out the snowflake image.
Layer 3:
Stamp the 2nd largest snowflake image on Whisper White Cardstock using Pistachio Pudding Classic Stampin' pad. Use the Big Shot and matching Festive Flurry Framelits Die to cut out the snowflake image.
Using the Simply Scored, score every arm of each of the Whisper White Snowflakes. Fold on the score lines like you are making a rosette – one fold males a hill, the next a valley etc. When all folds are made, you should have an ice cream cone shape for each snowflake. Cut the tip off of each cone. When you open the snowflakes back up, you should have approximately a 1/2" diameter hole in the center of each snowflake. Cutting this hole allows more ease when pushing the valleys down & the hills up.
Top Layer:
Using the Silver Metallic Encore Pad, stamp the 3rd largest snowflake image onto a Window Sheet. Be careful to keep your stamp steady because the window sheet is slippery and you do not want your stamp to slide. Emboss your image with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. But be cautious with the Heat Tool on the window sheet. Use the Big Shot and the matching Festive Flurry Framelit Die to cut out the snowflake image.
Assemble the layers using Stampin' Dimensionals. Glue Dots may also be helpful. Adhere the Frosted Finishes Embellishment with either glue dots or hot glue. The Silver 1/8" Ribbon can be attached to the back of the snowflake with glue dots.
If time permits, I intend to create a similar snowflake with purples and blues. This snowflake would sure dress up a plain gift bag. Can you picture it dangling from the handle with some pretty 1/8" silver ribbon? I think that I will put mine on a wreath. What would you do with the snoflake(s)?
