Hi Friends! The card I am sharing today is for the Pals Paper Arts (PPA) Color Challenge.

When I saw these colors, I immediately thought of fall. And, what says fall better than leaves!

In order to create an interesting background, I dragged my 3 inkpads across my paper, one at a time. Start with the lightest color and move to the darkest color. Of course, I used the colors from the challenge.
After stamping Off the Grid in Cajun Craze, I immediately heat embossed the image with Clear Embossing Powder. This creates the focal point for the placement of my die cut leaves. The same image (Off the Grid) was inked again in Cajun Craze, but this time I stamped off prior to stamping on my card.

The Autumn Accents Bigz Die was a lifesaver. No fussy cutting for these leaves! After die cutting the leaves, I stamped the images from the Wonderfall stamp set onto the leaves. Are you asking how I did that? The answer is with another lifesaver – the Stamp-a-ma-jig! It made it easy to stamp right where I wanted.

The accent at the bottom of the card is actually the finished edge from a piece of 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon. I cut a length of ribbon & then cut off the edge. That allowed me to fray the ribbon by pulling individual strands from the piece. I used those strands to tie the "Burlap Bow" located at the base of the leaves. Did I mention that I love this 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon!
To balance the acorn in the lower right corner, I placed 3 Always Artichoke Candy Dots in the upper left corner. There is one thing that is bothering me about my card. And, I will change it. I feel that the top of the acorn in the lower right corner should be embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. It definitely needs some texture.
Why don't I see those things until I am looking at the picture of the card on my post!

Oh my! I woke up this morning to another snow storm! I have just one queation. WHAT HAPPENED TO FALL? Seems like we went right from summer to winter with this being our second snowstorm in the space of a week or so.
On to happier thoughts. Let me show you my card for today.

Vintage is generally not my style but I have wanted to give it a try since Convention. That's because my friend, fellow Pal, and event roomamate Ann Schach gave a demostration on vintage cards to the Pals. So Ann, here's to you!
Some of the pointers that she gave us that I remember –
* Color pallette. Vintage looking colors – Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Sahara Sand and I did use a layer of Brushed Gold
* Distress, distress, distress So, I distressed. Notice that the layers have all been "roughed" up. The upper left corner has been curled with the layers separated. A dab of color ages those corners.
* age it! I spritzed some splatter on the main layer with Soft Suede ink.

* And of course, every vintage card needs pearls!
* Curl that banner and distress it! I can almost hear Ann talking to me. Hi Ann!
* Crumple, crumple, crumple to age the layers.
* Dimension – yes I fussy cut the bird & popped him up with dimensionals. But the Elegant Butterfly Punch came to my resue for the butterfly.

Although I am generally not a vintage style girl, I will definitely give it a try from time to time.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
