A Ginger Snap! Simple Easter Card!

Gosh friends, what a crazy day.  The State Basketball Tournament starts tomorrow and I am ecpecting company.  Bet you can guess how I spent most of  my day.  But, as the day wore on, I knew that I needed to stop long enough to create a catd for my blog and to prepare dinner.  In my fantasy life I have a cook and a housecleaner – how's that for dreaming!

On to my card.  I promised quick & simple and this card is definitely both. Take a look.

Sweet Sorbet rt

The Sweet Sorbet dsp is perfect for an Easter card.  It has many of the delicious pastel colors that we associate with the Holiday.  After stamping the tulips twice with Black Staz On ink, I used a Blender Pen with Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit, Pistachio Pudding Gumball Green Ink Pads.  I like the swish of color and it fits perfectly with the dsp.

Because it is such a simple card, I put a coordinating liner in the envelope.  The Envelope Liner Framelits make quick work of the liner.  In order to save dsp, I don't cut the full liner.    Add some snail, and my liner is ready to go in the envelope.

I thin stip of Basic Black cardstock adds just the touch I needed to create a nice border for the dsp. And, the best part is that I used a scrap that I had been hanging on too for just such an ccassion.

You may wonder why my greeting is not in the location that the stamp shows.  I did some engineering by cutting the tulips and the sentiment apart.  I placed the tulips on one side of my block and the sentiment on the other side.

And the other side.

Stamp 1

Now I can use the tulips and the sentiment independent from one another.

A Ginger Snap! A Bag of Thanks!

I needed a Hostess gift for an upcoming workshop and I have been tossing around different ideas.  Finally, I saw an idea from Ronda Wade (www.rondawade.com)  jumped out at me .     It is the cutest little bag.  I changed it up a bit to suit my purposesBag left

As you can see, the bag is made from  Sweet Sorbet dsp.  My favorite part of the bag is the unique closure.  It uses a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of  Crisp Cantaloupe c.s. and the top is punched  with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  Some 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon is threaded through the holes in the tag topper and then it is tied off with Crisp Cantaloupe Twine  from the Sweet Sorbet accessory Pack.  Remember that this can be earned free with a $50 order before shipping and tax.

The flower is actually a result of punching 6 Pool Party pieces with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  Each of these scallop circles were cut with the Fringe Scissors.  Becareful not to cut to far or you will ruin the flower.  After all of these have been "fringed" stack them one on top of the other.  Pierce a hole in the center and add a Mini Silver Brad to hold them together.  Spritz the flower with water and scrunch it up to get the full flower look.  Finish the center off with an In Color Boutique Details.
