A Ginger Snap! Oh Happy Day!

Sometimes I just want a card to send to one of my Grandkids.  So, yesterday I sat down and created a card for each of them.  Starburst Sayings was my stamp set of choice with the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment.  Freshly Made Sketches provided the ideal sketch for my project.

The cards for the boys were all alike.  I wanted a small dotted dsp  to match the dots in the sentiment.  Kaleidoscope from the 2014 Occassions Mini has the perfect paper.  And, it is bright & cheerful!

Don't you love it when there is a matching framelit.  The Starburst Sayings and the Starburst Framelits are available in a bundle for a 15% savings (page 34 of the Occassions Mini Catalog). These cards will be easy to mail too.  An added bonus – no extra postage required.  This next one is for my Granddaughter.

SAmr design with just a change of color.  I can hardly wait to send them.  Katie has both a play and a dance review coming up.  Seems like Oh happy Day will be very appropos!  The boys have a variety of activity from track meets to the start of T-Ball.   They all love to get mail too.

Check the cards out side by side.

A Ginger Snap! A PPA Afterthought!

I liked the sketch for the PPA 196 challenge and I intended to play.  But, the best laid plans of mice, men & stampers!  Better late than never – right?  Let me share with you my late card.

PPA 196 left

This is a fun and easy card to create that will work for male or female.  The mat behind the "Happy Birthday" is actually the leftover piece when I cut the Apothecary Accents Framelit.  I intended to cut the original piece in half to use as a mat.  But, when I looked at the negative piece, I decided to trim the straight edges a bit and use it as a frame around my sentiment.

The Birthday Basics designer series paper has such fun patterns to use for any birthday related papercrafting project.  Besides, it is bright and cheerful.  The sentiment from the  You're Amazing Stamp Set is tailor made for this dsp.  And, the Apothecary Framelits have a coordinating shape so no fussy cutting!

PPA 196 flat

A few finishing touches with the Scallop Border Punch and a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and my card is almost done.  The final accent is a few Bright Candy Dots.

A Ginger Snap! Simply Sketched Meets Petite Petals!

First, let me apologize.  I wrote a post that was suppose to appear on my blog yesterday morning.  Much to my dismay, it did not.  The question for me – where did it go????  I had saved drafts along the way but nothing exists from that post.  What's a girl to do?  Write another one!

When I had a few minutes free from caring for my husband (the one with the hip replacememnt) – guess I better add, and my only one, I did a little web surfing.  I found a card that I liked a lot on www.stampingJo.com.  So, I recreated an exact replica of her card before changing it up.

Petite Petals Bday

I liked many things about this card.  It is definitely bright and cheerful and it is different.

And, I adore the Petite Petals Stamp Set & Punch so it is a pretty safe bet that if a card uses them, then I will like it.  The Sentiment is from the Hostess Set Simply Sketched that you can earn free.

Like many of you, I needed Sympathy Cards.  Switching the color combo and the sentiment changed the mood of the card.

Sympathy Marina Mist left

Marina Mist paired with Basic Black has always been a good combo in my mind.  I think it is elegant and yet somber.

But, I also wanted a more feminie version of the card.  Again a change of color did the trick.  Rose Red paired with Basic Black gave me the look I wanted.

Sympathy left Rose Red

The stamp set Gorgeous Grunge added a a bit of dimension on the Whisper White in preparation for the Petite Petals floweres.

These are easy to mass produce.  After completeing 6 of each color combo, I finally feel prepared with sympathy cards.
