I liked the sketch for the PPA 196 challenge and I intended to play. But, the best laid plans of mice, men & stampers! Better late than never – right? Let me share with you my late card.
This is a fun and easy card to create that will work for male or female. The mat behind the "Happy Birthday" is actually the leftover piece when I cut the Apothecary Accents Framelit. I intended to cut the original piece in half to use as a mat. But, when I looked at the negative piece, I decided to trim the straight edges a bit and use it as a frame around my sentiment.
The Birthday Basics designer series paper has such fun patterns to use for any birthday related papercrafting project. Besides, it is bright and cheerful. The sentiment from the You're Amazing Stamp Set is tailor made for this dsp. And, the Apothecary Framelits have a coordinating shape so no fussy cutting!
A few finishing touches with the Scallop Border Punch and a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and my card is almost done. The final accent is a few Bright Candy Dots.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

This is definitely a. BIRTHDSY Card! I l filed the idea of using a negative piece. You covered it well. A job well done.
A bright and fun birthday card! I gotta dust off my scallop punch (or better yet find it) since you seem to add the right touch with the little scallops! Love the little bling to the flourish thingy!
