I love the look of a faux frame on a card so today I created one using the strawberry found in the Fresh Fruit Stamp Set.
Ginger's Snaps:
- Watermelon Wonder Card Base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
- Basic Black 4-5/8 x 3-3/8
- Whisper White 4-1/2 x 3-1/4
Stamp a strawberry with Watermelon Wonder Ink followed by the strawberry vine with stamped off Cucumber Crush Ink. Follow this same procedure two more times until you have 3 strawberries. Stamp "happy birthday" with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Cut a scrap piece of card stock 3-3/4 x 2-1/2. Center this piece over the Whisper White art piece & use a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw a line around your card stock piece lifting the pen when you come to a stamped image.
Run a small strip of Snail Adhesive where the strawberries meet. Create loops of Black Metallic Thread and cut the closed ends so you have lengths of the thread. Fashion into a bow and press into the adhesive. Top with a White Perfect Accent.
The inside of the card also has some stamped strawberries and a line image drawn the same way as was done on the front of my card. The sentiment is also from the Fresh Fruit stamp set. This sentiment makes me smile because our 4 grandchildren always ask us to tell them stories from the past. Somehow it just seems appropriate because they never seem to tire of the "old" stories.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. If you need any of the supplies used on my card , just click on the picture of the item below to be taken to my On Line Store. Please remember that if you have any questions about my card, I am only an email away and I am always excited to chat with my blog readers.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
I love everything about this card, Ginger! Everything. Love the border you created around the front and how you repeated it inside. <3
Love the colors, the strawberries, and the structure of the card. The thread through the strawberries is a great touch.
Your card made me smile today! I loved the strawberries, the black thread was a very nice touch! Did you add the white spots on the strawberries or did the stamp do that? Very nice touch with the border & I loved your matting! I really loved the saying! Awesome card!
This card is wonderful. It makes me smile. It is so summertime. You did fabulous work on this card.
Thanks for the smile from this card. It has been a rough couple of days with the neighbors moving. They just pulled out to go to her mom and dad’s. Frieda was already there so Ted didn’t get to see her today. Maybe they will stop by before they leave the area next Sunday for Buffalo. Ted was so upset he was throwing up. They basically grew up together since she is 2 months older than him.
I love the way you made the border I have done that before and always thought it was a fun change. Made me smile that you used watermelon wonder for the strawberries instead of strawberry slush! The little black bow and the enamel shape makes this look ripe for the picking! Very fun as a birthday card.
Hi Chris,
Makes me sad to hear how upset Ted is about his friend moving. Change is difficult – especially when you cant talk about it. I thought about both you Ted as I was doing my stuff today. Both kids their families will be here this weekend so I have been busy trying to get the basement in shape. Gotta scrub, vacuum, dust upstairs still . Wears me out. Staying up so I can order but then my eyes get funny – hope it is up on time! Trying to create on top of it all so I have been super busy. Hope things improve soon at your house. Thanks for taking the time to comment. You know that I always look forward to your comments.
Hugs
Ginger
