I had the best day yesterday creating cards with the Adventure Awaits Designer Series Paper Stack. It all started because I need a birthday card for my brother-in-law.
Usually when I am making masculine cards, I try to keep them pretty simple. This card is no exception. The foundation for my card is the Adventure Awaits dsp stack. Did I mention that I am loving this stuff! All of the dap on my card is from it. Be sure to turn the patterned pieces of dsp over because the backside is usually a plain color.
After cutting a piece of Whisper White c.s. with the Party Pennants Bigz L Die. I randomly stamped the splotch from Gorgeous Grunge in stamped off Early Espresso Ink. In addition, I inked the edges of my pennant with a Sponge Dauber & the Ink.
Guy Greetings is a stamp set that I nearly overlooked. But, I really like some of the images and all of the sentiments so it is a must have for me. After stamping the Wrench image from the set, I followed it with the sentiment right beneath the wrenches. Both are stamped with Early Espresso Ink. Near the bottom of the pennant, I stamped the birthday sentiment from Guy Greetings. The font is ideal for masculine cards.
The pennant is finished with a piece of 1/4" Early Espresso Cotton Ribbon that is stapled to the card with the Handheld Stapler & Mini Staples. The pennant is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals in order to create some visual interest.
If you need a quick masculine card, consider using both the Adventure Awaits dsp stack & Guy Greetings. I will be showing more of them this week so please stop back.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs,
Ginger
Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
I’m so glad I came back to my computer and clicked into this site. This is the perfect man card! The DSP is perfect. The tools and saying are right on. The ribbon stapled to the card in true man style. This card is great, I like everything you did.
I love everything about this card! I’ve looked this stamp so many times & I’ve never seen the wrenches! I’ll have to look at the DSP again with a closer look too make sure I don’t miss anything! Awesome job!
Great Job! I love how you did the stamp set! Your Bother-in-law will love it! Awesome!
Oh so cool! My dad would have loved this card! He used to say that all the time and then tickle me either on the right side or left at the right time.
Wouldn’t this look so fun done in pinks for a woman who is quite handy with tools or DIY around the house? I had a coworker who was divorced and decided she needed to repaint and “wash that man right out of her hair” and spruce up the house. I bought a pair of cheap goggles and hardware apron and a hammer and then glued on pink and gold rickrack on each and some other trims. We all had a good laugh and she actually used them as her sons wouldn’t be caught dead with a pink and glittery gold hammer!
