It is a Sketch Challenge day for the Pals Paper Arts (PPA). Check out my card and the sketch.
And, her's the sketch.
First, let's talk about the designer series paper (dsp). Does it look familiar? Hopefully not becuase it is a sneak peek from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. It's called Sweet Sorbet. Don't you just love that name! It is truly delicous paper – as the name implies, some of the other patterns in the paper are soft and subtle. You will definitely see more of it in some of my future blog posts. Both pieces of patterned paper on my card are from Sweet Sorbet dsp. It pairs well with Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana and Basic Black cardstock – all of which you see used on my card.
One of the first things that I consider when ordering from a new catalog are the bundles because they provide a 15% savings! For my card, I chose to use the new Perfect Pennants Stamp Set bundled with the Banners Framelits Dies.
My favorite part of the stamp set are the wonderful sentiments. I used two – one on the inside of the card and the other on the outside.
I couldn't resist making the top of the banner into a fancy tag with the new Scalloped Tag Punch. It just happened that my banner was just a teeny tiny bit short of 2 inches wide. That size works best with the new tag punches.
Because my card base was basic black c.s., I created a liner from Whisper White c.s. which was stamped with both a sentiment and a banner from the Perfect Pennants stamp set. The touch of black in the dsp was reinforced with Basic Black mats & Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. Small Hearts punched from Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana c.s. with the Small Heart Punch add a touch of color. A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and my card was finished.
If your Occassions Mini Catalog looks anything like mine, then there will be no doubt that you love it as much as I do! So many wonderful new products! The best part though is that Sale-A-Bration starts on January 28th. What a deal – we get free stuff for ordering increments of $50- not including shipping. What free items do you have your sights set on?

Wow, Ging, this is quite a card!! I like the stamp set and how you did the heart on the lower right side!! The scallops are quite nice!! Gives me a sense ice cream scoops!! The tag and ribbon are also quite nice!! Good job!
I like this card. The black gives it an elegant touch. I think I’m going to have to consider that stamp set too. I think you should make a scrapbook of all your beautiful cards for us to see. 😉
I think this card is quite innovative on the color scheme, I can see where it all matches and goes together quite nicely. You sure are teaching me a lot with the cards you make. I see what you mean if it is from the same paper pak. You simply amaze me.
Wow. You outdid yourself on this one. Love it!
Ginger, love the black outlining, it really sets off the dsp! And the little hearts add just the right touch!
