A Ginger Snap! Tis the Season PPA 269 Challenge!

It's that time for another sketch challenge for the PPA.

I must say that this sketch challenge was a difficult one for me.  After creating my first card, I decided that it wasn't quite right.  But, I feel that this card does meet the challenge.  Here is the sketch.

Joyful Season is my stamp set of choice with the ornaments from Peaceful Pines in a supporting role.  The branches of the tree are stamped in Crumb Cake forming a loose circle.  The cardinal from Joyful Season is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the second part of the cardinal is stamped in Real Red Ink.   The splatters from the same stamp set are done in Soft Sky.

This image was then cut with a Circle Framelit and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals making sure to align the branches.

The ornaments from Peaceful Pines  are stamped in both Soft Sky & Real Red Ink.  Thankfully I was able to use the Perfect Pines Framelits Dies to cut out the ornaments.

Finally, the sentiment from Peaceful Pines is inked with Soft Sky Ink, punched out with a circle punch and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Look closely and you can see some Gold Metallic Thread coiled behind the sentiment.

A Ginge Snap! Remarkable You Thanks Card!

Uploading the picture of my card to IPhoto proved to be a challenge that required several days for me to solve.  Fortunately, I finally accomplished the upload.

Thanks rt

The stamp set Remarkable You has some gorgeous images that pretty much stand alone.  That is the stamp set that I used to create my thanks card.  The flower is stamped on Watercolor Paper with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.  The flower and leaves are watercolored with an Aqua Painter,  Crushed Curry & Wild Wasabi Inks.

Thanks left

After I finished watercoloring, I thought that the card needed some more color.  Spritzing was just what I needed.  I filled the Stampin' Spritzer with alcohol and added about 10 drops of Crushed Curry Reinker.  In order to protect my flower image, I covered it with a scrap piece of card stock.

Thanks strt

Because I had been making my Cottage Greeting cards the Cottage Greetings Stamp Set was on my table.  I grabbed the "thanks" and inked it with Memento Black Ink.  A bow created with the 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon fills some of the space at the top of my card.  Finally, every flower needs Pearls – including this one!

A Ginger Snap! PPA 267 Color Challenge!

Awesome;y Artistic rt2

And the color challenge that prompted my card.

PPA267colors

Awesomely Artistic has been sitting on my shelf calling my name and I thought this would be the perfect time to break it out.  I love orange/blue combos so that is primarily what I used with the So Saffron used as an accent in the background and on the center of some of the flowers.  We are allowed to use a neutral and I felt that a touch of black would ground my image.

Awesomely Artistic left2

Tangerine Tango Stampin' Write Marker was used to color some random flowers in order to add more color.  The 2 strips of black patterned paper are from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This is the perfect paper pack to use for backgrounds or accents without overtaking my card.

A bow tied with the Black Baker's Twine complements my sentiment.  A few pears and a dragonfly add the final touches.
