The sketch below shows the fun design that Sandra Conner designed for us today.

PPA-300-May12-3

The basis for my card is the Oh Happy Day Card Kit.  Yes, it is a brand spankin' new card kit that will be available on June 1st.  It is filled with everything needed to create 20 unique cards & envelopes  including a Basic Black Archival Stampin' Spot & a 13-piece Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. Most of my card is from the kit with just a few additions in order to fit the sketch.

I added the center strip of Mint Macron Cardstock which is embossed with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It was chosen because it simulated the triangles on my card base.

Check out the cute Doilie.  They will be available as 2015 – 2017 In Color Doilies in the 2016 – 2017 Annual SU CatalogA close-up shows some of the detail on my card.

A Ginger Snap! First Sight!

You know that special feeling you get when you receive a special card in the mail?  Well that feeling is exactly what I felt when I picked up my mail yesterday because there was a handmade card from our daughter Beth for me for Mother's Day. Squeal!!!!!

Mother's Day strt

It is a simply beautiful card that is made with one of my favorite colors - Mint Macron.  Combined with the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper & some well placed accents, it truly is a gorgeous card and definitely one that I treasure.  It is extra special because I know just how busy Beth is and that she took time out of her busy schedule to create this masterpiece for me makes it even more delightful.

A hint of a Mint Macron Cardstock layer adds just a touch of color behind the sentiment layer which is matted with Basic Black Cardstock.  The gorgeous lace ribbon bow was created usingMint Macron 1" DottedLace Trim.  The third pop of color is courtesy of a Mint Macron 2015 – 2017 In Color Blossom Accents

The sentiment and the swirly background stamps are both from First Sight.  The good news is that this stamp set will be in the 2016 – 2017 catalog. The photos do not do this card justice.  i wish you could see it in person.

And, it came in a matching envelope created with a piece of Timeless Elegance dsp & the Envelope Punch Board.  Does it get any better than this!  Thank you Beth for a beautiful card!

A Ginger Snap! A World of Dreams!

I made this card to celebrate Mother's Day for all my wonderful Blog readers but it didn't post in time.  The wishes are still sincere and I hope all of you had a wonderful day.  It doesn't matter if you are a mother or have a mothering heart, this is all about you!

Right

Today I am using 2 products that I truly love.  The Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper & the World of Dreams Stamp Set.  The paper is vibrant and so rich with the jungle like mix of colors.  Because it would be overwhelming to use it for an entire background piece, I split the panels with a section of Whisper White Cardstock that is edged with slivers of Daffodil delight Cardstock.

Left

On the Whisper White panel, I stamped an image from the World of Dreams  using Archival Black Ink.  I wanted a dramatic contrast to the dsp.  In addition, some texture was added by stamping an image from Gorgeous Grunge with stamped off Daffodil Delight Ink.

Flat

The final touch was the addition of an Expressions Natural Element which serves to unite the 3 panels and draw the eye to the main image.

I would appreciate your help in deciding what type of cards you would like to see this week.  Please select a choice from below and tell me your preference in a comment.  I will do my best to honor your selection.

a) Cards using retiring stamps

b) Cards using new product (sneak peeks)

c) A combination of both
