Are you counting down for the start of the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog? I know I am. You should see my wishlist! What's on your list? Of course, I have some big decisions to make by noon Friday because that is when we all can order from the new catalog. And, it is the only day when orders can be made from either annual catalog, the Spring Occassions Mini, and the clearance rack. Be sure to get those items you want before they are gone for good.
My card today uses some designer paper that is being discontinued. I have used it for male/female and adult/children themed cards. Besides using it for cards, it makes awesome scrapbook pages too.
This past weekend, the Superior Bobcats Girl's Track Team took first place at the State Track meet. What an accomplishment! Out of 98 Class C schools in Montana, they wre #1! It is extra special because my Daughter-In-Law is the head coach. We are so happy for her. This card is on its way to her.
The Number 1 circle on the banner was punched out of the dsp with the 3/4" Circle Punch. Most of the layers are pieces of dsp from the World Spectacular dsp pack. Did I mention how much I like this paper!
This is what the inside of the card looks like. A liner of dsp covers up the backside of the embossed card front and a ticket of dsp punched with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch liven up the inside .

A friend of mine recently retired from his current position in order to pursue another direction. Because he is not truly retiring, I didn't want to make a Happy Retirement card. Instead, I decided on a Congratulations card. Because it needed to be masculine, I used one of my favorite designer paper packs – International Bazaar. The colors in this paper are just vibrant. The catalog picture does not do it justice. And, this paper can be used for either feminine or masculine cards. Early in my blog, I used it for some Pop-n-Cuts Dress cards.
As you can see, the dsp played a major role in the creation of this card. But, the colors are a little wonky in the picture. The chocolate chip looks almost burgundy.

Happy memorial Day to all! And a big thank you to all of the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our military. To my friends and relatives currently serving, I send an extra hug today.
When I first saw the new stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Mosaic Madness, the pattern immediately reminded me of the stamp set Summer Sihouettes. Thankfully, it is continuing so I pulled it out to check the pattern and immediately liked what I saw. Although this card is similar to one I posted earlier, I do like the dimension added by the design stamped in Coastal Cabanna. The new In Colors provide the pallette for my card today. Looking at the card now, I really think it needs pearls, rhinestones, buttons, Baker's Twine or some type of embellishment. Let me know what you think.
The Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder provides such a nice crisp image that I can see that it will get a lot of use in the future.
