A Ginger Snap! A Catalog Case Hello!

From the time that I first looked at the 2013-14 Annual Catalog, I was intrigued by the card on page 22 of the catalog.  Finally, I had time to try it.

The secret to this card is using the brayer to apply ink to the Chevron Embossing Folder.  Be sure to apply it to the side of the folder that has sizzix printed on it.  Then run it through the Big Shot like normal.  Also, begin with a larger piece of cardstock than you want at the end.  I trimmed mine to size after I took it out of the Big Shot.

The Four You stamp set has some nice sentiments with good fonts.  I can't wait to try some of the other sentiments in that set.

It is simple card that I think packs a punch.  It is bright and eye catching.  If you try this technique, please share your creation.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Hugs,

Ginger

A Ginger Snap! A Halloween Bash Sneak Peek!

Before you know it October will be here with Halloween close on its heels.  So, I thought a Halloween card would be fun given the new product in the Holiday Mini.

The star of my card is the Witches' Brew Designer Paper.  Every piece of dsp is from that pack.  I used some scallop & circle punches along with the Circles Collection Framelits to create the element on the right side of the card.

The stamped image is from the Halloween Bash stamp set.  I used Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, & Crushed Curry markers to color the stamp.  A black button tied with Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon unites the 2 sides of my card.

Basic Rhinestones add bling to the circles.  And, the bottom of the card is decorated with the Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape.

A Ginger Snap! Let the Good Times Roll!

This card is for one of my roommates at Convention.  She loves music and all things "old".

For this card, I combined two of my favorites – Timeless Talk & Modern Medley dsp. The new Deco Labels Collection Framelit provided the perfect sized mat for my image,  Oops, I need to reattach the candy dot on the bottom of the card!  Sorry that i didn't see it prior to taking the picture,

The Fancy Fan Embossing Folder gives the card base some interesting texture. Of course, Basic Pearls are an essential accessory for any card that hints of vintage.

I love the new Circles Collection Framelits. They make it so easy to get just the size circle.
