A Ginger Snap! Shhhh A Sneak Peek!

Hi Friends!

It's time for a delicious sneak peek at some product that will be available on January 3, 2014.  My son-in-law recently received a nice promotion at work.  And, I wanted to make him a card to congratulate him on his achievement.  Lucky for me, the stamp set that I had my eye on arrived just in time for his card.  From the first time that I saw this stamp set, I knew that I wanted it.  

The tag on my card is a case from the Stampin' Success magazine that all demonstrators receive bimonthly from Stampin' Up!  It was perfect for the card that I was creating.  The nice thing is that SU actually encourages us to case.  I am itching to use this set again.  The circles are blank so they can be filled with anything – letters, images, embellishments.  What would you fill them with?

Because this is a guy card, I chose the black stripe for my background rather than a pretty color.  It comes from a new paper pack called Kaleidoscope. Perfect name for this dsp pack – it contains some really nice papers.  

But, change out that dsp and the card can definitely be more feminine.  A little bling or a few candy dots could ramp up the feminity too.

Did you spot the scallope on the top of the tag?  It is soooo easy to create with the new scallope tag punch.  Just use a piece of cardstock that is 2" wide and then you can then make the tag any length that you choose.  Let me tell you, the punch cuts like buttah!  

You will be seeing a lot more tags from me now that I have this fabulous punch!  I think you will really like this tool.  The hole for the ribbon is actually part of the punch.  LOVE IT!!  Don't forget the chevron ribbon that is on the Weekly Special.  With Easter approaching, this tag punch would be great to use with a touch of chevron ribbon.

PPA Color Challenge & a Sneak Peek!

Hi All!

Today I am posting my card for the PPA 183 Color Challenge.

As soon as I saw these colors, I knew that I wanted to create a birthday card. And, this is where the sneak peek comes to play.  My stamp set of choice , Another Great Year , is from the Occassions Mini catalog which will start January 3rd.  

The stamp set , paired with some luscious dsp from the Regals & the Subtles Paper Stacks, makes this card so easy to create.  I added a border of Wild Wasabi cardstock punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  In order to add some dimension, I actually stamped the sentiment twice so that I could fussy cut the banners out.  If you look closely, you can see they that were applied with dimensionals.

In order to continue the color scheme, I added some of my favorites - Candy Dots!  Because they are available in all of the Stampin' Up! colors, they are the perfecy accent.  The inside of the card is finished with several more stamps from the set.
