Feb 5, 2014 | Valentine's |
Are you wondering about the title of my post today? Normally I would not think of the stamp set Hello, Sailor when looking to make a Valentine card. But, when paired with the Banner Blast stamp set from the Sale-a-brations brochure, it makes for a fun and whimsical card. Remember that you can get the Banner Blast stamp set for free with a $50 order (before shipping and tax). Speaking of free, the Banner Punch is also a free option from the Sale-a-brations catalog. With a $100 purchase (before shipping and tax), you can get both the Banner Blast Stamp Set and the Banner Punch for free!

Look closely and you will see 2 banners that say "hi love". In my book, that qualifies for the start of a Valentine greeting. And, when the banner is being pulled by a whale, I think that is whimsical and fun! All of the banners and the whale are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Doesn't the Designer Paper remind you of water? It sure does me – especially with the swimming fish! The banners are attached to a piece of Calypso Coral Baker's Twine with bows tied at both ends. I do have a bit of Daffodil Delight c.s. underneath the banners to add a pop of color. Each banner and the eye of the whale are finished with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

Hopefully, you can now see why I called it a Valentine's Card! This sentiment is also from the Hello, Sailor stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

STAMPIN' UP! SUPPLIES USED:
Feb 4, 2014 | Birthday, Thank You |
I'm loving this card making gig! The 2014 Occassions Catalog from Stampin' Up! has so many fun things that I am having a difficult time deciding what to play with next! So, if you have any requests, just drop me an email and I will try my best to honor it.. And, if you do not have a Demonstrator and need a catalog, I would be happy to send you one. Just send me an email with your address.
For my post today, I chose the elegant Simple Stems stamp set with the beautiful Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper.

Although the Secret Garden Framelits match this set, I chose to snip the flower out because I wanted to layer it. I love the dimension when the layers are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Coordinating pieces of the dsp were matted with Island Indigo c.s.. And the Island Indigo strip of c.s. was enhanced with a strip of Delicate Details Lace Tape. This stuff is so easy to use because it is self sticking and yet it gives you the option to lift it up and move it with no trouble.

The sentiment is from another one of my favorite stamp sets - Happy Watercolor. This is such a fun sentiment because it allows almost any sentiment to follow it on the inside of the card.

Careful placement of a few Candy Dots to fill some of the white space at the top of the card and in the center of the flower and my card was finished.

Feb 3, 2014 | Thinking of You |
Just a quick post for you today. This card is super quick and easy!

Bermuda Bay and Basic Black make such a good color combo! Don't you think so? Although my card is simple, I did want it to have some flash and I think this color combo makes it happen.
The background is stamped in Balck StazOn Ink. If you want to keep an image straight that is stamped repetively, the Stamp-a-ma-jig is a must have tool. It works like a charm to keep the image straight.

The 1-3/4" cCrcle Punch coordinates perfectly with the 2-3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch. Sassy Salutations had just the message I wanted and it is such a fun font. The last detail was the addition of a few Basic Rhinestones and my card was finished.
