My card was inspired by the colors for the Pals Paper Arts (PPA) Color Challenge.
Such perfect colors for a beautiful fall card! Because I felt that other design team members would be creating magical fall cards, I decided to try and go in a different direction. The artist paint splotches found in the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set seem like a perfect match with the little girl artist found in the Talented Trio.
Layers of Very Vanilla cardstock are used on my card in order to tone down the vivid colors of the challenge. But, I wanted a darker card base so I chose Early Espresso cardstock to create a foundation.
In addition, the "artist" from Talented Trio was stamped in Early Espresso Ink on both a piece of Very Vanilla card stock & a piece of Hello Honey In Color Desiger Seies Stack DSP. Tangelo Twist Ink was used to stamp the pockets from the smock on a scrap of Very Vanilla,. Both the smock & the pockets were fussy cut and adhered to the image of the artist.
I just could not resist placing Pearl Basic Jewels on all of the dots on the pattern found on the smock. Hello Honey & Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers add the finishing touches to the artist.
The layers of Very Vanilla card stock are stamped with several "splotch" images from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set, in Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey & Tangelo Twist Inks. Each of the Very Vanilla layers are matted on either Tangelo Twist or Early Espresso cardstock.
Finally, strips of 2014-2016 In Color Washi Tape were added to the top right of my card and the flap of the Very Vanilla Envelope in order to create a coordinating set.
And, I am extremely happy to say that the "big bandage" and the stitches have been removed from my finger and I am now allowed to start bending it. However, I still can't get it wet. But, I am thrilled at the prospect of getting back to creating!!!!! It has been a long dry spell.
I would love to hear what you think about my card this week. Your comments mean so much to me and I do read each & every one of them.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs,
Gnger
Ginger – This card is lovely and inspired. What beautiful layers of colorful goodness! Your artist is adorable.
It took an artist to create this artist! Wowzers, this is just so cool! Love all the layers and splotches. Her little smock is so cute. Why couldn’t we have worn smocks in kindergarten instead of wearing our dad’s old shirts when we painted? Love how you used that washi tape on the card and the envelope. The rounded corners are so fun and something I forget to do. Well done!
Great news about the bandage and the finger – it must be healing nicely! Have a safe trip back!
It’s all in the details. Sweet splashes of color and pretty pearls!
I just LOVE this card Ginger. You captured the artist in all of us perfectly with this challenge. Thanks for sharing this cute project.
Love it love it love it! Looks like this little artist had a great time splashing ink around!
This is a neat card, no pun intended. I like what you did with the Washi tape.
