Normally I am not a big fan of whimsical stamp sets but there was someting about Wood You Be Mine that just spoke to me. Besides being simply adorable, it has some great sentiments and you know how difficult that can be for masculine cards.
Isn't that lumberjack a hoot! He is actually stamped in 2 steps. First stamp him in Mmento Black Ink. Then ink the shirt overlay in Real Red. Stamp right over the previous image. Because the stamp set is Photopolymer, it is super easy to line up the images.
The trees on the bottom of the card are done in a similar manner.
Isn't that background paper perfect for this image? It is from the soon to be released Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. Talk about some grogeous masculine paper, this is it! I can't wait to use more of this paper.
It's the small details that pull this card together. Check out the small piece of Washi Tape up near his left shoulder. Would you believe that it is actually from the Sweet Dreams Designer Washi Tape. Yep, it is actually tape found in the baby section. It is topped with a luscious Gold Basic Metal Button tied with Baker's twine.
A small Wid Wasabi banner poking out from the bottom grounds my image. This card is actually a sample in the Occassions Catalog.
Only a few more days before you can order from the new Occassions Mini Catalog. Please remember that you will earn Sale-a-Bration items fro every $50 purchase before shipping & tax.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Very cute. I too like this stamp set. I didn’t realized he was a two-step stamp. Interesting.
This is wonderful…..looks terrific on the wood grain! Perfect!
Wood you be mine? Too funny. I think a beaver would be too much fun instead!
I had to laugh as in art class in grade school I had made a picture and I had made the guy too wide and didn’t want to have these huge legs. So, I made a line like this character has for his crotch or whatever you want to call that area. Heck, I was a little kid, was I suppose to go anatomically correct on the stupid body or what? Either way, the teacher marked me down on that picture. So, I stuck with girls wearing dresses so I didn’t have to worry about correctness! Sort of amazing how one carries a grudge all these years about something so silly!
Anyway, cute card. I doubt if I buy the set. But if that teacher was still around you bet I would and send her a card with him on it!
Too cute, Ginger! I love this set but haven’t gotten mine out yet…you’re motivating me! 🙂
I have fallen for this stamp set!!! So funny. I just love that goofy guy and the paper could not fit more perfectly. Love what you did with it all.
This stamp is a hoot! Love how you tied everything together too. Still on the fence about getting this stamp I think there are other stamps I want more but then I look at your card & think…you do this to me every time! You enabler!
I love this stamp set! It will be a must a long with the Herd stamp set! So much can be done with the Lumber Jack stamp! Good job Ging!
