I like sketch challenges because they give me somewhere to start. With the sketch in hand, I look through my catalog to find images that I believe fit the sketch.
And, here is the sketch.
The big circle in the sketch reminded me of a sun. With that in mind, I though of the rain boots in Bootiful Occassions. Now, I needed some paper for the background. Becuase I sorta had a rain theme going, I selected this piece from the Moonlight dsp stack because it resembled rain – okay, maybe a modern rain with the triangles.
My color pallette is based on the colors in the background paper - Lost Lagoon and Basic Gray. I wanted a bright sun so I used Daffodil Delight rather than Hello Honey.
The sentiment is from Bootiful Occassions. I stamped it then punched it out with the Modern Label Punch.

Bright, happy card! The “rays” of sun look so good with the background shapes – great idea! The boot is so cute. But, I think I like how you backed the sentiment as well as tied it on with the twine. The boot set is one I keep vacillating on, do I really need it? This card is fun. Just a card with no true purpose maybe other than just to say hi! Of course with all the goofy rain we have been getting the sentiment is even better. Love the texture from the embossing folders. I really like the Basic Gray with the Lost Lagoon and Daffodil Delight. Just delightful!

Hi Chris! We finally planted our flowers yesterday and as soon as we finished, it absolutely poured – a real gully washer. Honestly, I feel like we cant win. Kids are coming this week so I have been trying to get things ready.mmone thing I know is that I dont work as fast as I once did. Hahah
Hope you have a great 4th. We wont be doing too much as Bob is not terribly mobile. Id love to go watch the fireworks but he cant walk that far. Mao we will stay home 🙂
