When I saw the sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches 141, I immediately thought of the Koala hanging on a pole. It didn't work exactly as I envisioned but it was fun to create.
The sketch dictated the panels and rather than go with a quilt theme, I decided to use the Hardwood Stamp hoping to make it look like bamboo. The idea was good, but it isn't bamboo!. The panels were defined by thin strips of Early Espresso cardstock. I stamped the Kind Koala stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored it with the Blendabilities and fussy cut it. Check out his shiny nose! I applied Crystal Effects in order to give it a shiny & wet look.
Notice the Linen Thread tied in a bow around the Koala's neck. In addition, I tied the Tangerine Tango button with the same thread and wrapped a bit around my Wooden Essentials Element. To add some more color, I adhered a Tangerine Tango Candy Dot to the center of the flower. The sentiment from Honeycomb Hello is stamped on the Essentials Wooden Element with Tangerine Tango Ink.
Every house needs one of these Koalas. They are so cute that they are guaranteed to bring a smile to any face! To get yours, just click on the picture of the bear below to be taken to my On Line store.

Very cute. I love Koala’s. Have a big framed photo of a Koala in my living room…I definitely am getting that stamp.
Love this playful card!
So cute Ginger……love the bow tie! I must try cutting him it next time I use this set!
Very nice card. I like the window effect. Such a cute bear and you presented him at his best. Will be getting this stamp.
Playful is a cute word for this, thanks Marjorie! Maybe he is scaling the fence to get to the bamboo! Anyway, this is just too clever and I love how you did the shiny nose! The little bow is a very cute touch adding a little texture. I know you could use the bark EF and make it like a tree with some leaves at the top of the card so it looks like he is climbing up to get some of the leaves whatever kind – like a close up of him climbing up to get those leaves! Either way, this is very cute!
Great care Ginger! I think that little Koala is so sweet! Looks great against the woodgrain! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Very clever card! Love the wood look and the cute siny nose is perfect!
Oops, sorry, I meant ‘shiny’ nose!
This is so adorable! I love the woodgrain…like that sweet koala is just hanging out in a tree :)!
