I am honored to be the guest blogger today for Mary Fish on her Stampin' Pretty blog.  Thank you Mary for the opportunity!  As I thought about the Holidays and the fact that I was posting on Christmas Eve, I wanted to select a new stamp set that would have an appropriate message.  

Scanning the new Stampin' Up! Occassions Mini catalog, I came upon the Perfect Pennants stamp set.  It has plenty of options but one of the sentiments really caught my eye.  It carries a great message and is so appropriate as we head into the New Year.  

"Life doesn't have to be perfect to be Wonderful"!  Isn't that an awesome sentiment?  I just really felt that it is a message worth sharing today.  With that said, my wish for each of you starts with the hope for a wonderful year and a very merry Christmas!

Now, back to the card.  Did you spot a ton of new products?  Let's start with the background and work forward.  The Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder provided an appropriate background  for the new Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper. 

Speaking of the dsp, aren't these 2 patterns fresh & trendy?  They work well together and the color pallette is so easy to work with.  Coastal Cabana provides the initial punch as the card base.  And, Tangerine Tango follows up with just the right splash of color.  It just makes the dsp come alive.

A touch of So Saffron c.s. is the ticket to soften the vibrant colors.  The new Banners Framelits Dies translate into no more fussy cutting!  It was so easy to create a mat for my banner with these framelits.

Because you get the impression of circles from the dsp, I kept with that theme by using several of the Circle Framelits to cut the paper and the mat.  And, the strip of circles on the Tangerine Tango c.s. was stamped with another stamp from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.  

Candy Dots reinforce the circle theme and add some balance to the card with a visual triangle.
