First, let me just say that I struggled with this challenge. Although I like Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Summer Starfruit individually, using them in combination was a challenge. Guess that is why they call it a color challenge.
If you could have been here watching me create this card, you would have had a good laugh. I'd put something on, then take it off. I can't tell you how many elements were altered in some way. Please take a look at two of the versions and let me know which you prefer. I will be honest with you. I am not crazy about either version. The colora are wonky in the first photo.
The colrs are not good in the picture. The green is Lucky Limeade – the In-Color paper Stack and C.S. Here is the same card laying flat.
The colors are better in this pic.
Okay, now for the other version. I thought the top scallops needed something. I tried rhinestones and dahlias. Here's the card with dahlias. And, the colors are wonky again.
The main image was stamped in Summer Starfruit using the Blue Ribbon stamp set. I do like this stamp and I will definitely use it again. And, you can see that I did go a little crazy with rhinestones. But, this is the type of image that is all or none when it comes to bling.
This would be a difficult color combination to work with, but that is coming from a gal that likes the blues and greens more on the order of light green or kelly greens.
With that said I think you did a good job on what you had to work with. This is the first maybe card I have seen on you blog. I’m excited to see what you have done for the day and need to check it early and often. I would vote for the one laying down even though it is like the first one laying it down highlighted the bling.
I think they are both great. My favorite is the first one!
I agree with you, Ging! However, if I need to select a favorite,it would be the second one! I like the bright spring/summer colors! I guess I am not a dark green lover!!
Nice job accepting the challenge!!
The photo didn’t do justice to your card! If you look at the colors they’re very nice. With that being said, I’m not a lucky limeade person. I like the card laying down, could be I love bling. I also love the design of your card that really caught my eye! I’m with Barb I check your blog early, before I go to bed just in case it might be up, and check it through out the day when I’m online just to make sure if there is something else posted. I’m hooked on your blog!
When in doubt use some white! You made it work perfectly!
I like the added touch with the envelope and prefer the first card. Still a great card, but I agree that the colors are “wonky” 🙂
