Along with graduation, June brings the start of summer weddings. So I am getting prepared! If you have any of the scalloped hearts left from the Amore Specialty Designer Paper, this is a fun way to use them. Although I used them in a wedding card, they could just as easily be used for birthday, thinking of you cards or even Father's Day.
If you don't have any of those hearts, don't despair. You can make your own hearts using the Hearts Collection Framelits from Stampin' Up! In order to add some visual interest to the heart, I used the Polka Dot Embossing folder for texture.
The flower for both cards was made using the 1-1/4" and the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punches. Just scrunch the scallop circles up and then carefully peel them apart to get several layers. These layers were stacked together and held together with a mini silver brad. I like the shabby chic look of flowers created using this technique.
Other framelits and designer series paper work well too. The Labels Collection Framelit was used to cut a piece of Twitterpated Designer Paper for this next card. Any piece of ribbon or strip of designer paper could be used behind the label.
Are you curious what stamp set I used for the sentiment? It is a sneak peek of Label Love which is from the new catalog. Although I used the same sentiment on these cards, the stamp set does actually have a nice variety of sentiments to choose from. And, the best part is that a matching punch is available so no snipping by hand!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs,
Ginger

Wow, Ginger, you really know your techniques and are quite good using them! I do look forward to your blog!
The chic flowers make the cards! Love love love them! And, the new label love and punch are must haves!
